Well, he'd have to check with management first.

So, no.

I guess either a sneaky tease to say they've been doing some form of tracking in the studio, or highly more likely, it means absolute fuck all & is merely intended to create rumblings amongst fan boys while they no doubt sit back laughing at it all, possibly eating krispy kremes at the same time..

Truly pathetic. Adam is obviously just winning a popularity contest. He is a great guitarist IMO, but why the hell would he even be on THIS list/competition?

On the other hand, he has been dissed so many times in relevant categories, it's nice to see him get some recognition. Just wish it was presented differently.

ADAM JONES vs "DIMEBAG" DARRELL ABBOTT IN THE FINAL ROUND

It was a tight race, but ADAM has defeated Jeff Hanneman and now advances to THE FINAL ROUND in the http://www.loudwire.com GREATEST METAL GUITARIST poll, going up against DARRELL ABBOTT. Remember - you can vote once every hour.

The thing is, the last 3 guys he's beaten are way more famous than him. In what world is he even in the same league of famousness as Slash, for example?

I've said it before, but they shouldn't have had him in this to begin with.

The last few rounds ended on Sundays, it seems strange that this one ended on a Wednesday. Adam was down by 10% the last time I checked, I'm surprised he came back. I really figured it would be Jeff Hanneman against 'Dimebag' Darell.

Annnnnnddddd Adam is winning this round too...

Adam Jones: 64.35%
'Dimebag' Darrell Abbot: 35.65%

Tool New Archive

Post by nxrm »

Following the release of 10,000 Days the Toolband news page was updated and all posts prior to May 11, 2006 were removed from the site.

I recently discovered (thanks to kmapstra on reddit) that a lot of that information has been archived elsewhere.

For those interested, the following link contains Toolband news posts from April 13, 2006 back to March 2, 2001. Perhaps there's some additional information regarding "Problem 8" in there:

Oh shit, I dare not check that link now with all this work piled up, but I will waste some serious time there in the future. Thanks Gnorm.

You'll definitely need some free time to get through all of the information there.

Additionally, here's the reddit post by kmapstra that started my own search:

Toolband History

Definitely brought back some memories.

The real meat and potatoes (not much, but it's something) was the last paragraph:
"Well, before I found out about all this fishing business, I wanted to share with you some recent updates, such as the much rumored "changeup", the time-consuming intricacies of recording nano-guitar riffs, some freaky stuff that I've seen on the Dry-erase board at the loft, and how two band members had traveled all the way to the "Toolik Field Station and Arctic Biology Research Center" in order to get audio samples of the Siberian Chiffchaff to be used on the next album. Wait... The Toolik Station... Okay, disregard what I said before... Damn, why not audio samples of Blue-Footed Boobies near the Salton Sea? It's a lot closer!"

I thought there was supposed to be some big "reveal" on this newsletter. I waited all month for it. At least let us know how Maynard is doing with the lyrics!!!

Stupidest newsletter ever.

If anyone was SERIOUSLY expecting more than a dry bone being tossed in a Tool newsletter... you only have yourselves to blame.
