Ok so I'll jump in.
Don't normally like punk(ish) albums but I really dug this one. I really like the theme (it's loosely based on the American Civil War; I'm a huge history buff). As I said, I tend to dislike/stay away from punk, but I think it'd be incorrect to call this a pure punk album. (Hopefully) Enjoy!

A little early for another album of the week (it should be posted on the weekend) but I'll allow it I guess.

But you asked for one in the main LC thread, didn't you?hellboy wrote:A little early for another album of the week (it should be posted on the weekend) but I'll allow it I guess.
My bad if not.

Yea I totally didn't see the date on the post right before that. My bad.

This does nothing for me, sorry.
Re: Album of the Week- Titus Andronicus: The Monitor
This reminds me more of folk than punk. I found it pleasant but kind of fluffy… nothing really to sink your teeth into, but didn't really find myself wanting to skip tracks necessarily (can't say that about many other recent picks).
Doubt I'd go back to it, but glad I heard it.

Sorry but this is terrible. I hate punk/post-punk but I still feel comfortable reviewing an album in those genres as I have heard enough to make an objective analysis. This is just horrible. The vocalist is horrible. Most of the time it sounds like bubble gum pop punk. A few songs they try to dabble into an almost post-rockish type sound and fail miserably. As Kittaan mentioned they even play around with a folkey sound at times and again they fail miserably.
Nothing personal Raven. I look forward to you next pick, but this one, in my opinion, is really bad.

Had a bit of a Scottish folk sound to them at times. Wasn't thoroughly impressed but not as bad as Mog says!

Cool.
For the record, I don't mind bad reviews (I've given my fair share of those after all), I prefer them to no review at all.
So thanks for your reviews, gentlemen.
Keep em coming.
