Well, any NIN is better than no NIN. I saw the "Wave Goodbye" tour and was still blown away despite it being nothing but colorless overhead strobes. But... sorry you won't get to see the Tension spectacle. It was amazing. Hopefully they still have the backup singers? I loved them WAY more than I thought I would.

i loved the tension tour, but i thought the back up singers, for the most part, did nothing for me

word is that Trent did not intend to use the back-up singers following the initial Tension leg, at least for a bit ... the intent was also to revise the touring band, props, etc. from tour to tour

Never even knew who Rubin was until he started touring with NIN some years ago ... he's great to watch ... well suited to NIN

Trent's a fucking poser.
Considering QOTSA plays roughly 18 songs with an encore how long would they need to play for you to see them? They are basically playing the length of a headliner....

apparently both bands are signing 5 for each show and mixing them into the stack ... anyone know if the posters are the same for each gig or different designs?

Is it just me, is that the most generic looking poster you've ever seen?

Ah.

I've been staying out of most TOOL related threads.

Holy shit.

They should add a snake.

And fire.

Who are they, HIGH ON FIRE?

What the fuck is High on Fire?

And Adam posted a hand drawn pic (assuming by him) of that pic a couple weeks ago.

Original or not at least he drew it.

Having said that, yea, pretty genetic tour poster. The NIN/QOTSA one is way more genericer (IT'S A WORD) though.

that's what I thought when I first saw it ... generic(er) or not, I still think it's rad both bands are on it ... and a 'random' chance of getting limited autographs at face value is quite a novel concept.

There's a certain tour going on right now in another part of the world with some quality opening acts that aren't mentioned on the posters and cost $130 dollars for signatures that have become so common in recent times, that the objects getting signed are likely more valuable without the sigs.

also reminds me of this cover, which is simplistic and kinda cool.

Oh all good, what are your seats like?

I've been avoiding most of these threads (thanks to most for putting spoiler tags in) to ensure it's all a surprise...first NIN show so can't wait.

What are we hoping for? NIN to open or close? I guess we'll get the same as Friday. I've seen QOTSA a couple of times so would be happy with them opening.

Personally I'm not bothered who opens or closes - I'm looking forward to both pretty much equally.

Have you seen both before? I guess I would like the build-up/suspense heightened by having QOTSA first…haven’t even really watched much live NIN stuff online. I guess I'm a bit of late comer when it comes to being a fan of theirs and I’m trying to keep my expectations in check but it’s hard when you hear how good they’re live.

Yeah, seen both before. NIN are a better live act in my experience, so I guess I'd have a slight preference for them being last. But really not bothered either way.

Cool - enjoy the show tonight.

Still can't believe they're playing South of Auckland...tool haven't even made it down to Wellington/Christchurch since 2002. Reckon they will be some crazy ass shows.
