Rumours around the place that NIN will be touring with Adrian Belew later this year:

http://www.antiquiet.com/news/2013/01/h ... late-2013/

The NIN Hotline has uncovered a story on Create Digital Music, which reports on several guitarists’ products available at this year’s NAMM showcase. At one point, it reads: “Adrian Belew, who was scoping out TriplePlay, seemed tickled pink by the recent news that he’ll tour this year as Nine Inch Nails’ guitarist.” For those unaware, Adrian Belew has collaborated with NIN on a number of occasions before – namely, on the records The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, and Ghosts I-IV.

Well it didn't take him long to reverse his "no more touring" stance, as I'm sure most of us thought he would (I thought his reasoning for retiring live NIN was dumb to begin with).

It would be awesome to see Belew play with them, though. I only recently realized that the "Adrian Belew" I've been seeing on NIN credits for 15 years is the same guy from King Crimson. D'oh.

I have yet to see NIN live, and Belew on tour with them is a huge bonus.  I will try to make a show for sure.

Coincidentally, I was just talking to a buddy yesterday who was a big NIN fan and telling him I regretted not seeing them when I had the chance.

The new Angels video is pretty brutal. The song is better than anything on Omen except for Ice Age (which might be my favorite thing they've done).

It's really cool that the vinyl is going to include a cd version of it as well. With Volto!, Puscifer, and MT Void releasing stuff as well the next couple of months should be interesting.

Well then I think I'm going to skip Omen because I didn't think that song was all that great.

Now, here are some of your no-name bands. Sonic Youth? Nine Inch Nails? Hullabalooza?

I probably will eventually.  HTDA has just never really done much for me and it's hard for me to get up the enthusiasm to check their stuff out.

I don't mean to say the new song is great or anything, though I think its good. The reason I said it was better than most of Omen is because other than Ice Age I found it pretty dull.

I will say that Omen doesn't sound much like their first EP though, if that helps.

Nine Inch Nails is back!

NOTE FROM TRENT:

Nine Inch Nails are touring this year.

I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked - which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows.

The band is reinventing itself from scratch and will be comprised of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and me. The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the US this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014.

Lots of details and dates to come. See you soon.

TR

Hot dayyummm!!!!  When I saw this earlier today via Twatter my day was fucking shot- had a hard time concentrating on other tasks.

Will be interesting to see what a 6 musician line-up brings to the table.  When he decided to to do 4 for the last tour it at times seemed like not enough, and in the past was the usual 5 (with drummer, bassist/guitar, guitar, keyboards/multi-instrument, and Trent) at times seemed like there was one too many.

Also arena tour- wonder if he's going to try to out do the "Lights In The Sky" '08 tour, from a visual/production aspect.

Fuck'n A I'm stoked!!!

This is exciting news! I'm happy about this. A bit of a short hiatus, but it's fine. I'd rather them keep touring than Trent "keeping his word". If anyone remembers he said NIN was done after the Year Zero tour in 2007, then did another world tour 08/09. Josh Eustis is one lucky fellow getting to play with both Maynard and Trent.  Josh Freese had the same situation at one point. Wonder if this means Puscifer wont tour when NIN plays or if JE will be replaced.  Anywho, guess just got to wait until fall dates come around.

Nine Inch Nails are confirmed as the headline act for the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.  Hopefully this means we get an Australia tour that isn't attached to Soundwave.

That footage is from Sound City FYI, and not from the new NIN album.

But yes it is good to see Dave there...
