Well, it's almost never your idea to get sued, and that's the whole problem with moronic lawsuits is... they happen anyway. And they don't stop until the money stops (or the pursuit of it anyway, as I'm sure the other guy's lawyers just smell a gigantic payday and as such, won't stop).

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
It does not sound promising at all that Adam is releasing this information to the public right now. If the album was anywhere near completion, I think the band would have waited until the slew of "what took you so long?" questions ensued after record #5 is released. One song almost complete? LMFDO.

They... basically spelled out that it's nowhere near completion? I mean, they came right out and said just that.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I think this information would like to all those Blair haters i mean, Danny and Adam read sincere and say we have no new album yet, we have difficulties, we are still working, they are sharing their point of view without needing to read between lines or algorythms. It's sad to read this kind of "news", i think all fans feel frustrated but at least we know what seems to be what they are doing , right? Again, we need to wait as always we have been....

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Nothing BMB can really say for the next few months that hasn't been addressed in this interview. I am glad they were honest in this piece, and although am dissapointed that one song is near completion (again that can change) however, I feel out of all this frustration some lawsuits etc that this album will be more in depth and full of stories regarding tragedy and triumph than their last release. Beside 10kdays/Wings and Possibly the Pot, I feel their weren't any real personal stories on the album. I read someones review of 10k days and they had said that the album didn't feel complete because the narrative didn't really offer any suggestion to resolutions where in the past Aenema and Lateralus discussed personal problems along with societal concerns but also offered closure. Hope that makes sense.
I guess what I am trying to say is that through turmoil comes great art. Hence 10kdays/Wings and most of the songs off of Lateralus and Aenima. I am hoping this frustration leads to a much more compelling album albeit the long wait.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Someone needs to clue Maynard in that the band's consensus for the delay is the current legal battle and NOT Lazy Bones Jones.

Just.. whatever. I'll continue to listen to other stuff like I always do. But it's safe to say, they're miles away. Can we expect a late 2014 tour now that they need money for the lawsuit? It's possible. I never thought they would tour this year.

I'm not buying it. If they truly wanted to put an album out, they'd find a way. Lazy bastards.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
is this just a massive late April fool's day joke? wouldn't put it past these guys.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
i
I think if they really really really need the money it would be better for them to release a new album,,, since it will sell alot of copies and gigs. But Adam sounded like he don't want to sell a crappy album... therefore i think another mini tour could come.... and well i think 42&2 has a good point...Ettan wrote:Just.. whatever. I agree. There is something about this that smells a bit bullshitty.N.Y.H.C. wrote:is this just a massive late April fool's day joke? wouldn't put it past these guys.

Something's fishy. See what I did there?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Reading between the lines there (and I could be wrong), I think that suggests that one is near completion with Maynard. This is a good thing. Overall I thought it was a positive interview. I'm still hopeful we'll see them in the studio by years end.iloveposters wrote:and although am dissapointed that one song is near completion (again that can change)
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I don't think it's ready, but it wouldn't completely shock me if it was closer than what was said there.Leo wrote:like in... it's ready or about to come out later during the year?Ravenpig wrote:I agree. It seems like smoke and mirrors at work, seemingly out of nowhere.

Well, it's likely too early for July, and as someone already pointed out, June's Newsletter was posted in the News section, but never made it to the Newsletter page...Leo wrote:There is still no newsletter... there might be a confirmation there...

TOOL NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2014 E.V.
MERCURY RETROGRADE
Be prepared for lots of problems as MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE UNTIL... JULY 1. So, if your cell phone call drops out in the canyon... If your order from the shopping bazaar is the wrong shirt size... If your Bic won't spark that blunt after only 2,999 flicks... If your VHS tape of "The Eighteen Year Old SchoolGirls" suddenly has a faulty end-of-tape detection mechanism... If the Cheetos nubs in the bag are smaller than usual... If your car battery goes dead (and there's no alien spaceship that sounds like a broken lawnmower nearby)... If they get your order wrong at the Jack-In-The-Box drive-thru... If your cochlear neural interface implant goes on the fritz... If the commercials are louder than the television show that your watching... If you get bitten by a black widow spider after falling onto the floor after being hit between the eyes by popped champagne cork... YOU NOW KNOW WHAT TO BLAME.
Also, if you are currently working on ANY creative project, you should probably stop until after July 1... Unless, of course, you are in a band called TOOL, and busy working on material for a new record. If this is the case, back up your hard drive... and go with the flow!

If he didn't seem to be everyone's favourite musician that you want to have beers with, I'd straight-up call him an asshole for that.
EDIT: I'm laughing my ass off right now imagining you literally saying it and shaking your head.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
