Malcolm Young of AC/DC may be suffering from dementia.

I've been taking that as a given for the past twenty years or so.

Jokes aside, dementia sounds fucking awesome. You have no idea what's going on, and you don't give a fuck.

Much like the attitude obese people have.

I do enjoy AC/DCs attitude. They haven't given a fuck what the critics think for 30 years. They suffer from memory loss everytime they hit the studio. "Now what the fuck did out last album sound like?" They stick to their guns and their fans dig it. I can respect that.

I do too, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

And their fans tend to be worse than TOOL fans, in my experience. A lot more relaxed though, I'll give them that.

In some ways, particularly after reading this sentence, it makes me think that this kind of how Clutch operates/will operate in the future - except of course that they are particularly more awesome

I don't see Clutch being anywhere near as formulaic as AC/DC. Granted, they have a signature sound. And definitely a higher level of musicianship in Clutch... as well as creativity and groove.

Definitely some of Clutch's more recent stuff has seemed formulaic, particulary Blast, Robot Hive, and From Beale Street.

Not knocking them (Blast Tyrant is my favorite album), but just a thought

This is the isolated vocal track of Lordes hit. Pretty damn impressive says the author of this article and I agree.

Exclusive: HipHopDX attended the Wu-Tang Clan's press conference for "A Better Tomorrow." Here's what we learned.

Let the Wu tell it, and it took a gaggle of challenging yesterdays to create A Better Tomorrow. There were conflicting schedules, conflicting visions, conflicting interests—you name it. So much so that Cappadonna says that the Wu-Tang’s sixth group album was birthed out of hardship. Fortunately all of that is behind "The Clan." Fresh off of a new deal with Warner Music to release A Better Tomorrow, all nine current Wu members were all in as close to agreement as we’ve seen them over the past year and a half. And while all descriptions of this project paint a picture of a Wu we’ve never heard, from a recording standpoint, RZA went analog.

Adelaide Festival lineup was announced this evening. Not quite the great lineup that we had this year with Zorn hitting town, but a few solid inclusions regardless. Firstly the Unsound Festival returns again. I might check out one of these nights, probably Friday night being the pick of the bunch for me:
Unsound Adelaide
Exclusive to Adelaide

Thursday - Lawrence English, Container, Vatican Shadow, Fushitsusha
Thu 12 Mar

Friday - Atom™ and Robin Fox, Forest Swords, The Bug, Shackleton
Fri 13 Mar

Saturday - Model 500, Mika Vainio, Evian Christ, Heiroglyphic Being
Sat 14 Mar
Shows are in the Freemasons Hall - wonder if I can score a freebie...

Other musical highlights include:
  • Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton (US), Adelaide Entertainment Centre, March 14.
  • Tommy — Eric Mingus and Hal Willner (US), Her Majesty’s Theatre, February 26 to March 1.
  • Mogwai (UK), Thebarton Theatre, February 27.
  • 65daysofstatic (UK), Freemasons Hall, March 7.
And this sounds great as well:
Blinc (International), Elder Park, Festival Centre and Riverbank Precinct, February 27 to March 15. From large-scale projections to extraordinary laser works, building-mapping projects and more intimate, interactive experiences, this cutting-edge, free outdoor display of digital art features astonishing feats of technical brilliance from some of the world’s best artists.

I'll definitely look at a couple of those. Mogwai holds some appeal.

Off to Rolling Stones next weekend . I'm not expecting much so I will probably like it more than I expect to.

I watch bands in my age bracket much of the time. Many of the great touring artists in the world today are around my age whipper snapper.

If there is one thing I know about Tyson it's that he loves snapping whoppers.
