So the new Tool album is based on a never ending road? Seems fitting....

A whole new world
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

I want them to make a double disc album with 5 videos,, and live DVDs from every main tour. Plus a documentary on everything they have ever done, every moment of their lives together.

That's funny... I was hoping after the 10 year wait they would have a little more than that....blacksabbath wrote:I want them to make a double disc album with 5 videos,, and live DVDs from every main tour. Plus a documentary on everything they have ever done, every moment of their lives together.

Re: How will Tool approach the design of the new album?
They better release a feature film. These videos and songs are too short. I want full immersion!

I'm sticking to this. I think they pull a 180 and strip everything downN.Y.H.C. wrote:back on topic. has anyone in the 14 pages of this thread (I can't remember) ever had the thought that they take a minimalist approach to the next album design? even to an extreme? like "The Black Album" or even further? no song titles or credits listed (maybe it's in their contract that they have the right to NOT include anything?). could be possible. it would be interesting to say the least. has a major act ever released an LP and put absolutely nothing on the cover, back or inside jackets? just put "Tool" in very small font, like microscopic on the actual CD? that would be annoying and awesome.
maybe include a plastic magnifying glass? hahaha.

^ Interesting idea but in the age of downloading, I'd assume they'd go for the quality over all product for 2 reasons. Firstly, as a stance of support for the format & secondly for financial reasons. Easier to sell a hard copy if it has something extra in it for the purchaser.

well digital I went with the puzzle idea, a million parts of a puzzle. one part for every unique download then we all share them social media style on a website and it brings out some sort of picture or video. probably an up close shot of Maynard's dick or some recipe for lamb chops.Busty McCracken Jr wrote:^ Interesting idea but in the age of downloading, I'd assume they'd go for the quality over all product for 2 reasons.
