Yep, glad they did that. Hopefully the rest of the movie isn't so cringeworthy. I hated the GotG trailers as well, but the movie turned out alright.N.Y.H.C. wrote:at least they took the rated R anti-hero and made a rated R movie.

And how many chances are they going to give this Ryan Reynolds character?? His films consistently flop (RIPD, Self/less, Green Lantern, The Captive...) and yet he's in EVERYTHING. At best he is "photogenic boyfriend no.2" in a Kate Hudson / Katherine Heigel / J Lo rom com piece of shit. AT BEST.
Anyhoo....looking forward to this lil sucker:

Never have and likely never will get the attraction for/choosing to put that shit in your head (referring to the two clips above and the Horror genre in general).

I used to watch horror films, in addition to all the other genres, but stopped doing so about 5 years ago: it definitely had to do with questioning why I'd put that shit in my head as well.Kittaan wrote:Never have and likely never will get the attraction for/choosing to put that shit in your head (referring to the two clips above and the Horror genre in general). Last Halloween I decided to watch a horror movie though. I'd heard good things about it, so decided to watch "The Woman in Black". Turned out to be quite a good movie, for the genre: more suspenseful than graphic gore (thankfully). It definitely terrified me, and it still haunts my mind from time to time, but I'm glad I checked it out.
Not sure I'll be watching any others in the near future though.

You know, this trailer looks a bit dumb and cliched, but something about it makes it looked interesting:

I watched it with my kid and his friend on Friday. We thought it was just OK.TheBirdman wrote:I saw craptastic 4 the other day, terrible movie.
Compared to Antman it was pretty Craptastic, agreed. But on its own, as the first in a reboot with more to come, I'll give it a little leeway to see what comes next. It was a lot of setup with not much payoff. If the second one doesn't deliver, it's toast. It's got to be better than Deadpool.

I think FF is done as a series at Fox. Either they sell the rights back to Marvel or work out a deal like Sony did with Spider-Man.
Also, yours is the first comment I see that doesn't shit all over FF.
You're probably not very familiar with Deadpool if you didn't like that trailer. It won't break any records or anything but that looks pretty spot on for who that character is.

Re: Movie/TV News
It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled the plug, it wasn't a great 1st movie. But I'd like to see them get another shot. The acting wasn't shit, it was more the script and directing imo. At least there were some interesting ideas. The execution was weak.
You're right, I'm not a Deadpool fan, but the trailer was tired and predictable. It's also hard to invest in what's his face as yet another troubled superhero fuck up after Lantern.

Re: Movie/TV News
Unless it makes absolutely no money, which would be surprising given it's a superhero movie, there's a good chance Fox is just going to reboot it in a couple of years to hold onto the license. That's pretty much the only reason why this one got made, as well as I think the last two, and the one before those.

Re: Movie/TV News
I don't remember a Thin Red Line being especially great personally, though many seem to think it's quite good. I don't remember Hamgurger Hill being that good either. All the others mentioned are great movies though, with Apoc Now easily being in my top 10 movies.
My top 5 would be something like:

Re: Movie/TV News
War movies don't really interest me. I have no real way of answering this question. I've seen at least 5 movies, but I couldn't rank them. Though, I'm going to say Apocalypse Now is probably the best one just because of how insane it gets.

Re: Movie/TV News
new HBO show: "Westworld"
"Westworld" was originally a Michael Crichton screenplay/movie from the 1970's about an amusement park where the theme was the old west. only everyone who plays a part in this park are robots. the robots go haywire and well, there's the plot. the movie starred Yul Brynner. they even had whore robots you can actually, well...you know...
The HBO show will star Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood ("The Wrestler"), Ed Harris ("The Abyss" & "State Of Grace") and Jeffery Wright ("Dr. Narcisse" from "Boardwalk Empire").
The executive producers are J.J. Abrams ("Cloverfield", "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", "Lost" & "Super 8) and Jonathan Nolan (who wrote the screen plays for all of the new Dark Knight movies, Momento and Interstellar). watch the teaser trailer below.

Re: Movie/TV News
Westworld was never a novel. The movie was an original screenplay written by Micheal Crichton who also directed the film.
