Queens of the Stone Age will release their new album   …Like Clockwork   in June 2013. This will be their first album since 2007′s Era Vulgaris. The album features Dave Grohl on drums and guest appearances by Mark Lanegan, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor, and Elton John.
QOTSA.com has some clips of songs from the new album. Frontman Josh Homme said in February that the new album is like “running in a dream inside a codeine cabaret.†Dave Grohl also recently described the album, “The Queens record’s pretty great, man. It’ll surprise you, it’s not what you would imagine it to be, it’s better. It’s cool.â€

He was the longest tenured drummer with The Mars Volta and personally, my favorite of the bunch.
Ah. All joking aside, I looked him up. He's all good in my book.
Man, what the fuck happened to TMV. Remember when they made awesome fucking music? Eh.

JOSH HOMME SAYS RECORDING NEW QOTSA ALBUM WAS ‘TOUGH,’ TALKS REUNION OF SONGS FOR THE DEAF LINEUP
Queens of the Stone Age’s classic lineup that recorded Songs For The Deaf: Mark Lanegan, Nick Oliveri, Dave Grohl, and Josh Homme
In an interview with Zane Lowe yesterday on BBC Radio 1, Josh Homme discussed the difficult process of recording Queens of the Stone Age’s new album …Like Clockwork, the band’s first album in 6 years. Homme said, “Without getting into too much detail, I think every once in awhile this process is difficult.†He added, “It was a tough time. I thought I can run away from this or I can run into it.†He concluded though that like The Beatles said, he had to let it be.
Homme also discussed the reunion of the Songs For The Deaf lineup on the new album, “Nick [Oliveri] was dropping off some records and offered to sing back up. Nick and Mark [Lanegan] appear on the same song.†He added, “There’s been 7 years of drinking together since Nick left the band.†Homme also said that he is close friends with Oliveri and Lanegan. He mentioned that recording with friends is “a way to hang out†with them since they can all get so busy. Homme also discussed the firing of longtime drummer Joey Castillo and Dave Grohl stepping in to drum, “I let Joey go and it’s 10 years together and it sucks, and 2 days later we’re playing with Dave because we don’t have the time.†Mentioned he’s thankful for the time they had, but they have to move on and he praised Dave Grohl and mentioned that they have a special relationship musically.
