From Fasterlouder:
Looking for a triple bill of NYC punk and hardcore? Look no further. Three veteran acts from the NYC hardcore scene – Sick of It All (founded in 1985), Madball (founded in 1988) and, Vision of Disorder (founded in 1992) – are teaming up for a pair of sidewaves next month.
The three acts will play at Sydney’s Manning Bar on Tuesday February 26 and at The Espy in Melbourne the following night. Hopefully the shows will be less violent than the show Sick Of It All and Vision of Disorder played together at last July’s inaugural CBGB Festival at New York’s Webster Hall. At that show Cro-Mags founding member and former bassist Harley Flanagan was arrested on weapons charges and two counts of second degree assault after attacking current members of Cro-Mags with a hunting knife.
Sick Of It All last hit up Australia in May 2012 on tour alongside Agnostic Front, and should have a few new songs to show off this time around with a new record due for release later this year.
Madball haven’t made it to Australia since 2008 and since then they’ve released a new record Empire, and hired and fired drummer Jay Weinberg (who coincidentally will also be touring on the Soundwave 2013 tour with Danko Jones).
Vision of Disorder split in 2002, reformed briefly four years later and have recently released a new album – their first record since 2001.
Sick Of It All, Madball And Vision Of Disorder Sidewaves
Tuesday, February 26 – Manning Bar, Sydney (18+)
Wednesday, February 27 – The Espy, Melbourne (18+)
Tickets on sale Friday, January 11

speaking of live shows with wine bottles, I was blessed enough to see their last performance ever as evidenced at the :08 mark.

I might give this some consideration, but I expect tickets will be more than I'm willing to pay. Â Good venue though.

Tooth and Nail Workshop
Bring your old filthy t-shirts friends because thanks to Jake and Cassie at Tooth and Nail we’ll be hosting a live screen-printing workshop so you can scum up your favourite tee’s, pants, under garments, elbow pads or alike. (If you’ve already done this to all the fabric in your totally happenin closet, don’t worry, we’ll have some spare at bay.)Â
Buy/Browse Some Records
This is where John from Re-Run Records will step in with his distro for everyone’s collective needs. Keep an eye on this page to find out more on what’ll be available.Â
Zanna's Closet
Get ya fashion on with Miss Zanna Hodges repairing, flaring and wonderfully daring clothing distro. Suitable for the extravagance of you!
Eats and Drinx
We’ll have a hefty couple of bars running throughout the day and thanks to the radical dudes at The Hills Cider Company, we’ll have an awesome cider bar and chill out area to indulge in, also Fox Creek Winery will be serving up their famous McLaren Vale Cab Sauv’s and Sauv Blanc’s and of course we’ll have Coopers beer available all day. On top of this, Manu from Vegie Velo will be tinkering with your taste buds via a vegie burger experience of a lifetime, the amazing VW kombi Bar will be shaking up a few cocktail recipes, with international beers to boot while Smooth Revolution will be smashing out some awesome daiquiris, soups and smoothies... all with the practical use of pedal power and all local AF!!!!
Sounds like a pretty cool event all up. Â And in a venue I've yet to visit as well (but will be a few times in the next months as Lustmord also plays there).
