that comic book is alot of hype, evryone said it was gonna be killer, but its pretty evident that the artist didnt take it serious.nxrm wrote:I know right?! Don't they know I have feelings too? It'll be old news soon enough, as the next rumor is just around the corner. The announcement of the Special Guest should be a welcome diversion as well.
Thanks for the support guys and gals!!! If you need me I'll be reading that Batman comic book I've been hearing so much about.

Well, looks like I may have misplaced it. Might have to drop in on Zime tomorrow night and see if I left it there.pickles22233 wrote:that comic book is alot of hype, evryone said it was gonna be killer, but its pretty evident that the artist didnt take it serious.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I'm curious if Crystal Method is just DJing each show or if they're doing their full live show. Both are really great, assuming you're OK with electronic dance music. Should be a real test of the whole "Tool fans often treat openers like shit" thing, although I feel like that's really lessened over the years.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Opening bands for full tour? Where are they listed? Wondering who's opening for Tool in Detroit.budsyralli wrote:Opening bands have been listed.

^ Zero fucks given. The only Tool news I am interested in would be an announcement that they are hitting the studio to record a new album. Until such time they are, for all intents and purposes, dead to me as a band.hellboy wrote:A couple of pics recently from Les Claypools wine FB page:

Mog's attitude isn't necessarily the problem, just the repetitiveness of it is.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Well Mog really seemed to turn around there for a while. I think he enjoys people talking about him. And its working!
Again though this isn't the Random Mog Social Media thread.
Though I am waiting patiently for his well crafted, probably a little wordy, response.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
It's a Tool news extravaganza!!!
Funilly enough Tools music has proven once again to be the master at creeping up on people. I've been with my other half 3.5 years & while she didnt mind rock acts like incubus etc, bands such as Tool were way off her radar deemed as too angry and too heavy.
After 12 months she started digging puscifer.... 2 years a perfect circle wore her down and then about 6 months aho she has become obsessed with Aenima. Is funny how many times over the years I've seen people flat out dislike the band only to wind up loving em.

I heard most of Aenima/ Undertow early on & enjoyed it, but it was still a bit out of my scope. Bought lateralus after its release & it sat on a shelf for about 5/6 months. After coming back to it a few times something finally clicked & I was there. Quickly became my favorite piece of music & fell deep for most everything they've released. I understand about taking a few spins to fall for a particular band or album.

According to 'Nard's twitter, getting a record before the end of this year is "not possible". Begin the speculations and ranting......
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Adam recently posted (edit: on his Facebook today) a sort of "raw" version of the tracks he recorded for Isis' track "Hall of the Dead." It's really cool to be able to hear more directly what Adam did specifically. They're quite beautiful and a departure from what you normally hear him do.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Given that most of us assume neither band has recorded, I imagine he's right. Maynard doesn't have time to record anytime between now and October.greasy wrote:According to 'Nard's twitter, getting a record before the end of this year is "not possible". Begin the speculations and ranting......
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
A co-worker just pointed me to the lyrics for the title track on Money Shot and discussed how it's not too much of a stretch to interpret them as being about mjk's frustration with the guys regarding the snail's pace of progress on the upcoming album. I'm not entirely sure it's accurate, but I thought it was pretty interesting and it makes me wonder if he'll work through some of these meta issues in the new work.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I think there's very little doubt that there are some internal issues within the band, and plenty of frustration not limited to just Maynard.
