So, 2019 now?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I think most of us already figured it would be 2019, despite Danny's optimism.

I think Trilobite just admitted to illegally not owning a physical copy of 10,000 Days.

Imagine how long the new album would have been delayed if it was actually illegal to not own a copy of 10,000 days, Adam's brother would be richer than the actual band.Bill Hilly wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 12:58 am I think Trilobite just admitted to illegally not owning a physical copy of 10,000 Days.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
The group photo of the Philadelphia 'Music Clinic' I went to got emailed out - 6 links on an email, 6 pictures - 2 sets of 3. I put a set together. It looks like this.
I feel there's a few things that they could look to improve on for US$500.... like, using a panorama setting. Maybe three of them going around and standing in smaller groups for a better pic? Shake hands with people as they leave and take a pic then? It's not a make-or-break feature of the night, but could have been executed a little better.
Couple other thoughts on it all - once I got a ticket I avoided any reviews of the other clinics which was probably a good idea because the format/content was consistent. The summary posted by HB combining a few different reviews is a good distillation. The biggest variable of each clinic were the questions from the audience, but from other reviews it seems whatever question asked seems to have then leaned towards the same sort of info.
So yeah - the theme of the night is firstly people recounting their personal experience(s) with/of Tool infront of everyone, before the guys come out and play in a well-lit, ground level space. They lead off with a couple of songs, answer 3 or 4 questions from the audience, repeat. This goes on for ~2 hours, and if you want to hang around with 150 others waiting for Justin and Danny to come out to say hi in the bar area, you can.
The space is v.intimate. I was standing to the side of where the chairs were set-up, and it was almost too close. At times you don't know where to look because you're standing right next to them. Adam likes to look around while playing, so you're sorta left with making various types of eye-contact every minute with him for over 2 hours, or look elsewhere, which is also a bit awkward. This sounds super weird to explain but yeah, it's that intimate. No complaints.
The spiel is Adam spending a bit of time illustrating the composition of a song for him, and how it then works out with the other instruments - it's a pretty well documented story, but this is the extent of it being a 'music clinic'. It was odd listening to him explain discovering the lowest common denominator as an artistic concept, without mentioning fractions, to an audience who probably knew about fractions. He talks a lot about 7, gets Danny to play it on a tom, then plays 4 over it, nods his head to everyone when the two converge.
At some point in-between playing full instrumental versions of songs it would've been cool to hear a jam, pause and discuss some thoughts about it.
It was a fortunate alignment of circumstances which got me over there and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend.

Thanks for the writeup and photo inequitude - I hope the original you got was of a higher resolution! Surely someone in the Tool camp has a wide angle lens?
In other news, did anyone catch Adam's live Instragram stream the other day?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Sounds like ToolArchives channel from Youtube has been removed for policy violations.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
WHAAAAAT? Really? Thats kinda crazy... Tool has been pretty chill about their stuff online, which is ironic considering they dont allow streaming sites to use their stuff. They let Rick Beato do his song breakdown of schism, etc.
Unless this is the first step in them finally releasing their own stuff on streaming sites...
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
This is from ToolArchive on Reddit:
100% due to some technical mistake on YouTube's side. I've already initiated the proper reinstation process. From the emails I received it looks like some laughable unrelated flagging that triggered a single concert vid to be removed for "dangerous" content (when there was nothing of that in there at all, which makes me believe it was entirely automatic) which triggered my channel to be suspended even though it was in perfect clean standing. Obviously some major confusion going on right now at YouTube

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Hopefully we'll see the collection back online. I don't think Tool really cares all that much about it, unless he's been hosting rips of VIP sessions and such (they're pretty touchy about them).
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
He’s a FE member. I’ve chatted with him on PM.
I hope they sort it out for him soon, he put a ton of work into that channel.

- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.

That's in pretty poor taste.
