Two new songs! I can't bring myself to listen to the stuff that's been posted. It's all super low quality. Gonna try to hold out for a few more hours to see if some high quality taper stuff gets uploaded. If not I'll bite the bullet.

That's definitely a roman helmet he's got on. Some psychedelic visuals with cicadas? Cool, cool.

It's sorta like the tease from 2012 but not quite. I'm really thinking the whole album connects, Invincible and Descending seem to at least.

My short, all too soon opinion is that Descending sound ok, but nothing super amazing, but Invincible (or whatever it's called) sounded pretty rad

For me it is the opposite. Descending sounds remarkable reminds of something off Lateralus. Invincible sounds fantastic as well but not nearly as tight. A kind of Rosetta Stoned meets Undertow vibe. Dope as fuck but Descending is that sweet spot for me when it comes to Tool. Technical perfection

Invincible probably also proves that every song is not over 10 minutes in length.

That video isn't the whole song though - it cuts out at the end. It felt like longer than 10 minutes when I watched the stream

Wow, 13 minutes?!? I'm not even going to listen to it. These uploads aren't very good quality for my liking. I think I'm going to wait until studio versions for the rest of whatever gets road tested in the weeks ahead.

I did like the synth work that they did in Descending.

Invincible sounds pretty fucking epic...but yeah don't think I'll thrash these shitty versions - I just needed to hear it with my own ears to know it was real haha.

Yeah, I'm done with those phone recordings. I've heard enough now, and the next time I hear those songs it'll be the recorded version.

I am a little surprised they just didn’t go ahead and announce the name of the album and release date it would have been perfect timing. They gotta know the release date by now.

Yeah, you'd think so. The whole situation right now is kinda bizarre.

I keep going back to Descending. It stands up right there with their best stuff. This absolutely is Lateralus/Aenima level without question which shocks me I never thought they could hit that level again.
