Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
Yeah, I bet "edgy" is exactly what they're going for as well
Can I suggest if you don't give a fuck about Patton/FNM/etc you leave this thread, rather than trying to be "edgy" yourself?

I feel like you could take that hipster shit that Tyson always post and replace hipster with edgy and it would probably work better.

I don't think Patton ever tries to do anything, the guy just does what he does.

Sounds like Fantomas are playing the Rockout Fest in Chile with Devo & Primus. Good times for Patton fans.

Playing The Directors Cut apparently.
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
my friends just came back from St. Marten's and they met this cool dude from Australia at a tiki bar who does not have the full use of his legs but loves to get shit faced lol. he was explaining to them that he follows this band around and the lead singer always invites him on stage to chill. how cool these guys are etc etc, he just shows up and tells security "tell them _____ (insert name here) with the wheel chair is here" and he just gets a free pass. so my friend was like, "that's pretty cool man, can I ask what the band's name is?"...."oh you might have never heard of them, they're called 'Faith No More'?? my friends name is Mike" and he proceeds to show my friend and his wife about 20 pictures of him and Mike Patton wilding out backstage lol. cool random story. this guy being held up all fucked up and Mike Patton photo bombing every picture hahapetemasterpete wrote:*fixedN.Y.H.C. wrote:I don't think Patton GOD ever tries to do anything, the guy GOD just does what he does.

Did you get his name?
I'd steal someone's wheelchair to get backstage at FNM.

Let's all put our heads together and pray real, real hard that they take Fantomas on the road for a bit with this Director's Cut business. I would kill to see them perform that.
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
Hey friends!
There has been a bunch of stuff happening in the Ipecac world of late so we wanted to update you on some of the exciting things coming soon. It is going to be a very busy Fall.
Hope you are enjoying the King Buzzo album and have had a chance to catch him live.
Another band that is touring and is a MUST see is Le Butcherettes. Tere is simply one of the best front persons of all time!!!!! Their album CRY IS FOR THE FLIES is released today!!!! Catch them on the road with Antemasque and on some of the upcoming Melvins dates.
Speaking of the Melvins, those bastards are back with another album! HOLD IT IN comes out Oct 14 and features Buzz and Dale collaborating with Jeff and Paul from the Butthole Surfers on the whole album. And oh my does it ever work! This is one that you gotta check out.
At the end of October we will be introducing a lot of you to the coolest thing to come out of the UK in a long time. We are releasing a compilation from Sleaford Mods titled CHUBBED UP +. Sleaford Mods are a stripped down, political, electronic punk-hop band from working class Nottingham. This stuff is real and it is spot on! Google them now.
So then we ease into November. We start off with a beautiful reissue of the Isis classic OCEANIC and the 2nd full length that we have released from Italy’s Guano Padano titled AMERICANA. Guano Padano take their spaghetti western/jazz/swing tunes to a new level. Featuring contributions from Joey from Calexico and author Dan Fante.
Then we come to Black Friday! Nov 28th. A National Record Store day in the US. To celebrate, this year we have 3 very special vinyl releases. First we reissue the classic GREAT PHONE CALLS release on vinyl. You asked for it, you got it! Long a cult classic. Just as offensive on the turntable.
Next up we have one of the most elaborate packages we have ever released. We give you a cabinet full of music from Fantômas titled WUNDERKAMMER. This limited edition, over the top package includes vinyl versions of all of the Fantômas records plus a cassette copy of the original Fantômas demo that Mike Patton used to recruit the other members. Neat, huh?
The last black Friday release is the new Faith No More single, “Motherfucker”. This is a limited edition of 5000 7 inch. The bside is a remix by JG Thirlwell. The single will be available for download purchase a couple weeks later. We are very excited about our new partnership with Faith No More/Reclamation Recordings. The new FNM album will come out next year and expect to see them doing some touring in 2015 as well. This ain’t a reunion, this is the real deal!
Ok, enough with the updates, we gotta get back to work.

I expect so - they seem to be a little more popular now that they've broken up then when they actually released albums, so makes some sense financially.UndKeineZwEier wrote:So they're just going to do every album, huh?hellboy wrote:We start off with a beautiful reissue of the Isis classic OCEANIC

as is the case with a number of quality bands ... I'd say it's definitely the same with Kyuss and Failure, among others.hellboy wrote:I expect so - they seem to be a little more popular now that they've broken up then when they actually released albums, so makes some sense financially.UndKeineZwEier wrote:So they're just going to do every album, huh?hellboy wrote:We start off with a beautiful reissue of the Isis classic OCEANIC

I can think of at least 4 things that are wrong with this picture.

The lighting is all wrong.
Roddy doesn't look good in black.
Jim Martin seems to have gone bald.
