haven't heard Markus talk his Solarte hating nonsense in a minute. it's now almost halfway through May and this kid is leading the team in OPS (.847) and RBI's (with 18), he's for real. and Tanaka, yeah we paid for him, but he's undefeated (5-0, 1.00 WHIP, 58-7 SO/BB ratio) he's worth every penny. out dueling Milwaukee ace Yovani Gallardo on the road last night.

on my NY Giants big board we needed a Center, WR and DT and drafted all of those need in the first three rounds. TE, Tackle and RB are needed in rounds 4 -6 (we have 2 5's and no 7th) and I see us drafting exactly that.

and Marty St. Louis and the floundering Rangers? what can I say. he's a hero as far as I'm concerned. a man who lost his 60 year old mother unexpectedly and still went out there for 20 minutes to cut the ice. he's the unofficial captain right now, leading by example. what a tough fuck. I couldn't imagine how difficult it must be for him. and the Chris Kreider effect is in full swing. can't do diddly squat on the power play for 2 weeks and he comes back from a broken hand and puts in in the net during the man advantage. cudos to this team losing three in a row and not going out like a bunch of bitches. game 6, Sunday night on mother's day. MSL, my heart goes out to you, he's a real man in a real sport.

Hahahahaha. Yeah, Solarte. Real hard to be the "best" on a team full of geriatrics. Like anyone's expecting Jeter, Roberts, Soriano, Beltran, McCann, Tex and Co. to put up good/great numbers?

Also, last 30 days Solarte is hitting a robust .257 and OPSing at .744. Looks like he's really starting to come back down to earth after his torrid start as pitchers get a better book on him. Of course it is comical you decided to pimp your boy the day after he hits a 3-run homer. No coincidence there.

How's 2nd place looking though?

it's funny that the fake that is leading your team in home runs and RBI's right now was suspended 50 games last year for juicing his fat head off. Solarte, 2 for 2 yesterday with 2 runs batted in by the way. he now has 20, more than Chris Davis, Markakis and Weiters. tied with the second coming of Jesus, Adam Jones, who by the way has to raise his average 50+ points to sniff Solarte's asshole. first place huh? we played the 1st place 24-14 Brewers while you BARELY eeked 2 out of 3 from the 12-26 last place Astros haha. I'll put up our zip Tanaka against your zip Chen any day bro.

It's funny you downplay the O's taking 2 of 3 from the "last place Astros" especially when, to uh, start the season those same Astros took 2 of 3 from your geriatric Yanks. You also forget to mention that the O's have played one of the harder schedules in MLB, without their projected 1-9 from day 1. And yet, they're still 1.5 up. Hahahahaha. Also shows just how much you know about baseball comparing rbi's of Markakis to Solarte, cause you know leadoff hitters typically don't get tons of rbi's. Or compare Davis (again, you really want to get into steroid/hgh/ped talk as a Yankee fan?) who was on the DL for a good little while. But again, I don't expect much from Yankee fans. I also like how you cherry pick stats to compare. Like, why not compare batting averages of Markakis or Wieters to that of your undocumented illegal? Or compare rbi's of Jones and Solarte? But for Yank fans, comparing apples to oranges is the apt comparison. Hey, how's Brian Roberts working out? Hahahahaha

That said, definitely rooting for the Rangers in game 7 and this was classic:

Yangervis Solarte

Solarte is a 26-year-old rookie on his third organization. He spent six years in the Twins organization and two more with the Rangers. And while he steadily improved, Solarte spent the past two seasons in Triple-A with a combined OPS of .736.

Yes, he can play multiple infield positions, which may help him sustain a major league career beyond this season. To think of Solarte as a viable piece of the Yankees' future going forward because he parlayed 126 plate appearances into a .315/.394/.463 line, however, is ignoring almost a decade of performance that completely contradicts all likelihood of sustenance. The small-sample-size rhetoric applies to Solarte because there's no such history.

I can't believe NYHC is still talking about him as if he's Cano 2.0 or something.

Yangervis Solarte was 3 for 4 last night, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored. he is now batting .330 with a .403 on base percentage. hey Raven, did you remember Cano being a top prospect in the Yankee organization? no? that makes sense because he never was. three infielders got hurt, can't remember who exactly, he was called up and never sent back to the minors. I'm just saying, aren't you a Ranger fan? didn't they release him for nothing? maybe you should trade us Prince Fielder and we'd consider sending him back your way. being 12th in runs scored and 17th in slugging percentage in THAT stadium where balls fly out if you check swing, I'm surprised you let this stud go. Donnie Murphy is batting .211, I'm just saying that would be an upgrade. no?

and I'm still posting about him because Markus was telling me in Spring training that he wasn't facing "major league pitching" and wouldn't continue his torrid pace. that, obviously was wrong. it's now half way through May and this kid isn't going anywhere.
