Looks interesting. Cloverfield got a lot of shit for some reason, but I thought it was alright.
Re: Movie/TV News
real talk from the boss. the Holy Roman Emperor, Uncle Matt. my elated response was not because Cloverfield was the greatest movie of all time, it was more that in today's world of the internet and social media...how the HELL did JJ Abrams keep this completely under wraps?! right?? this movie comes out in less than 8 weeks time which is something crazy. that's absurd. this movie did $80 million in the U.S. and a prequel or a sister movie comes out under everyone's noses. bravo to Bad Robot, excellent job in secrecy.hellboy wrote:Looks interesting. Re: Movie/TV News
oh an I forget to post, "The Big Short" gets a solid 8.0 from me. I watched the first 10 minutes just to see if the audio and video were synced correctly and was captivated enough to watch the entire movie. I'm in finance so the last fucking thing I wanted to see in my leisure was a movie about the god damn bond market but it was THAT good folks. great cast too.

Re: Movie/TV News
just read about this, super secret untitled Terrence Malick movie just finished filming. synopsis is simply "Two intersecting love triangles. Obsession and betrayal set against the music scene in Austin, Texas."
check the cast out, as usual with his films it's a plethora (and yes, I do know what it means to have a plethora) of Hollywood talent:
Christian Bale, Rooney Mara, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Ryan Gosling, Benicio Del Toro and Val Kilmer.

Re: Movie/TV News
David Ayer's movies are pretty violent and edgy to say the least, so there's no real surprises there (Fury, Harsh Times, Street Kings, plus he wrote Training Day). I'm a Marvel kinda dude but I'm going to say this is a buy just to see Jared Leto and Margot Robbie share scenes together. two excellent actors playing very iconic and over the top roles, I'm locked into that alone. their chemistry is key, curious to see how/if they pull it off. this should be fun.Calfium Jay wrote:N.Y.H.C. wrote:

Let's not pretend that Margo Robbie is anything other than a hot blonde.N.Y.H.C. wrote:I'm going to say this is a buy just to see Jared Leto and Margot Robbie share scenes together. two excellent actors
Re: Movie/TV News
I would agree, if I never saw The Wolf Of Wallstreet. she was excellent in that movie. in these short clips alone she looks very method in her acting, she definitely picked up some tips from Leo and Leto. Jennifer Lawrence is a hot blonde who is very overrated, Margot Robbie is underrated at this point. figured you'd be pulling hard for the hometown hottie?hellboy wrote:Let's not pretend that Margo Robbie is anything other than a hot blonde.N.Y.H.C. wrote:I'm going to say this is a buy just to see Jared Leto and Margot Robbie share scenes together. two excellent actors

Re: Movie/TV News
I think she's quite good attractive and enjoy seeing her in movies. That she's an Aussie doesn't do much for me.
Re: Movie/TV News
Wait, what exactly did she do in Wolf of Wallstreet to show great acting ability? Not saying she was bad or anything, but I don't see "great" from her. At least not yet, to be fair.
Hey! Denty!
Re: Movie/TV News
she wasn't just complimentary to one of the greatest actors in the world but she stole a few scenes with raw talent and sexiness. being hot doesn't translate to being sexy on screen, you have to possess acting ability to do that. there's a lot of hot blonde's out there, they mostly stick to Transformers movies and what not. I think it's dismissive to say she's hot and that's it. I mean did you not see that movie? I have about 20 times and she stuck with me every time. working with Martin Scorcese is NOT easy at all and she was tested for sure. I think she did an awesome job and has amazing potential as an actress. I don't have a crush at all, I'm very analytic with Marty's movies and have been for years. she's no Frances McDormand or Jennifer Jason Leigh but she turned in a Lorraine Bracco in Goodfellas or Sharon Stone in Casino type performance. there's a lot there and I remember how I felt about Heath Ledger being tapped to playing the Joker and it was NOT how everyone else felt, at all. I'm not superhuman I just saw something there in his previous movies and the role was perfect for him. Suicide Squad is not the Dark Knight, at all haha. I just think she's going to steal the screen when she's on it and it has nothing to do with her outfit. let's wait and see but I think she's a top prospect and needed a few at bats to really make an impact in a film and this setting is perfect. Jared Leto is a beast of an actor and she has to step up, I believe she will. that's all I'm trying to convey.Ravenpig wrote:Wait, what exactly did she do in Wolf of Wallstreet to show great acting ability? Billions on Showtime is making me re-think my total hatred of Damian Lewis as an actor. And question how Paul Giamatti has not won an oscar
