I never saw the completed project with segues and all, so I suppose it's possible.

@junior , do you know how the band feel about the leak at all? I imagine disappointed but inevitable. Is 5 days out considered a win?

preorders are a blessing for a band with the internet around. i can imagine tons of people that got the leak already ordered it anyway. hearing it now is amazing, cant wait to get it and have it and all that but no shame in hearing this now. woot! lots to sink into, some killer stuff on this one!

There was this slow guitar play by Adam right before Vicarious (starts around 06:10), ToolArchive also used it for his New Album Update video series.
I expected it to be on Fear Inoculum, but I just couldn't find it.
Could this be one of the other three interludes on the digital Version?
I’m also surprised this wasn’t on the album. There are loads of little cool Jams that I really liked dating back to 2010 that never made it onto the record as far as I can tell (e.g. schism intro 2010 and AJ guitar part from VIP sessions).

I am thinking we'll see a setlist with all the tunes except Culling Voices, given the two guitars, unless that's Justin on the record. That frees up 10 min for two crowd pleasers in addition to one or two others.
I know the pieces fit, I studied the numbers in Southern France.

Anyone else notice that Mog hasn't said a word? Hope he didn't die before the leak! Seriously, Mog, you alright buddy? Are you that blown away by the album that you are literally are speechless?

Nah a bunch of the regular users are too good for the forum these days spending all their time in discord. Bit of a shame really after all these years they decide to abandon ship at the penultimate stage of this album seeing light of day.

Such a tattle tale.

I thought Mog was just taking his time to absorb the album, some people are just slow on the uptake.

I was a bit meh with Invincible when I heard the recent US tour recordings for the first... idk... 10 listens? then one listen again and it did a total 180 on me - same thing happened with FI single - I'm pleased to read on the Reddit threads how this 'awakening' thing happened to many others.
So with that lesson in mind, I think I'll wait it out a little before passing any commentary on what I make of it. 'Let it marinade' I read somewhere.
7empest to me atm it just 15 mins of carrying on - I think once you listen to it enough times to know where each part of it fits... that's when it clicks... if that makes sense? Marinade.

What I do notice though and wont change over any further listens is the tempo of Descending and Invincible are discernibly slower on the album vs. live. I threw both mp3s into a DAW and increased them by ~5bpm you get much closer to the live versions, which imo are significantly better.... but... marinade.

Cheers to all. Good times. BBQ

Something I thought today, did Maynard waste an opportunity on Culling Voices near the end?

The buildup is there to add some sweet tunes, like the end of H but he stood back.

Was playing the album to misso for first time tonight and when Justin kicked in on culling voices I said this reminds me of something from Aenima thinking of H and thought the same thing funnily enough. Maynards not tortured anymore I guess but yeh young Maynard woulda laid something deeper there for sure

I haven’t talked to any of them this week, so not sure.
I can’t imagine they are thrilled about it.

I do suppose the pre-orders help to lessen the disappointment.

I don’t think they care tbh. They wouldn’t have played the two new songs and released a separate single if they wanted a total surprise.

I listened to to bootlegs, saw all the insta videos, and listened to the leak but I still bought two copies and will listen to the full digital release Thursday at midnight and then again the following day when the package arrives. Pretty sure, most, if not all people who went out and got the leak will be doing the same thing.

Hellboy have you listened to it? Haven’t seen you say anything about it.
