I would imagine the scaffolding etc is the biggest component of it all, individual needs while more painful for some that others should be able to catered for in addition to you'd think ??
@junior care to way in here ?
I wouldn't say it's impossible at all, since bands semi-regularly have consecutive nights in different towns. It's not like it's a couple of hours from Sydney to Melbourne though.
Assuming Tool appear for festival shows here, I'd be surprised if they had the full rig for sideshows.
Hahaha 'way' in here. Well done busty... Well done.
Anyway if it's not Tool I just had a random urge to play SOAD for the first time in a very long time and got me thinking that they're playing a few shows in Europe next year. Ya heard it here first folks
SOAD were one of the more underwhelming Soundwave headliners I've seen, so I hope not. I'm not prepared to write off Tool at this point, but not getting my hopes up
Not saying I'm hopeful, just a random thought in my head. Have been scratching my head thinking if it's not Tool I don't really see who would be a viable option and they would fit the bill.
Failing those two , Metallica could be another possibility but you'd think download would have had to of pulled the rug out from another band to make that happen if if was the case. Given metallic has made no mention of cancelling their mid April south American tour is another possible scenario although extremely unlikely

We had Metallica at Soundwave not that long ago. I remember it distinctly because I walked away out of sheer boredom.
SOAD would be fine. I really enjoyed their last headline performance.
"She's a very charming and delightful creature, and has only one fault that I know of. It happens, unfortunately, that that single blemish is a want of taste. She don't like me."
^ 7 years ago? Settle down I'm sure they won't headline (I hope they don't) , but yeah 7 years is fair play for a headline act isnt it ? Its not like metal gigs have a substantial number of big hitters knocking down the door to fill that slot
The Darkness are coming in March I might be tempted to see that.

No way Metallica are playing. Wouldn't surprise me if the headliner isn't a AAA act, more likely someone the level of Korn or Slayer, who headlined the last two.

too bad it looks like the loot isnt hitting australia i guess ? i wonder if they are getting ''low balled'' like they are in japan. hmmmmmmm
Who's getting low-balled in Japan?
No doubt Tool are coming to Oz, don't reckon it'll be Download though.
Iron Maiden would be a pretty disappointing headliner tbh, though I kinda got the impression they'd do their own tour, but maybe I read it wrong

just a thing i heard about when Cevin Key and his wife went to see tool rehearse before the tour. She said (publicly) Danny & Justin would love to play Japan again but they kept getting low balled but i thought maybe they are asking too much similiar to some of there merch. who knows.
Iron Maiden would be cool to see. im not a big fan but if i had a chance in some way to see them i probably would. never actively tried to go but just sayin they are kinda cool.
aah ok,,thats good then. the way you guys were talking i thought maybe it wasnt happening. They do love Australia so i was thinking that didnt make sense. awesome!
Tool love Australia, I'm pretty sure we'll see them in the next 12 months, and probably wouldn't be surprised if they haven't announced a tour by the end of the year.
