There are some terrible albums in the top 10 (and presumably the rest of it) but Lateralus made #1, so this list must be alright...

I'm a Maiden fan, but Brave New World doesn't belong there (they're newest Book of Souls is far superior to that IMHO). Green Day's American Idiot is lumped into these bands somehow. And Linkin fucking Park.

Maybe Tool is playing the Aftershock Festival? Could be pusicfer, but aren't they in Europe at that time? I haven't checked dates

Nope, puscifer is in Europe right now. They're announced dates for November so it may be them, but honestly I don't think a festival would make a big deal about booking them.

I'd say there's a pretty good chance Tool are playing, and that this is the CA date that was suggested to me. Voodoofest is the following weekend too. I'm kinda expecting that we'll get Aftershock, the two shows (SLC and Denver allegedly) and then Voodoofest.

Awesome! This is a festival I have been going to the past few years, so having one of Maynard's bands playing there will be awesome. Past articles have said the festival has a 15,000 capacity, so if Tool did play I'm sure it would sell out a lot faster than previous years. Usually it sell out the weekend of. They moved to a location with a bigger capacity last year, but this year they are returning back to the original location.

I heard Jeørg Bhénsøn is producing. Interesting choice as he's primarily known for his work with Inane Clown Pussy (ICP)
