Random Tool Social Media thread
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Perhaps what he's suggesting is, if you've been waiting on a tool album for the past decade, & you're looking to him for answers, then go back & listen to the puscifer catalog, as those ideas & lyrics would have been fleshed out with tool if the music had been ready.

it is also a easy way to change the direction of the conversation, which he loves to do, regarding tool

Good interview. This one remark from Justin perked me up, yet concerned and frustrated me at the same time: "We’re pretty deep into the writing process now, and we’ve narrowed things down to big groups of ideas."

Good share but yeah, thought the exact same thing. If that's the case they'll all be over 60 years old by the time this thing comes out. And it'll never live up to expectations.Bill Hilly wrote:Good interview. Probably fair to say at this point it won't live up to expectations even if a miracle happens and it comes out in 2017.

Great interview, probably the best one given in a the last 10 years. Still some way to go though it seems.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
No one can know when they will be finished, but I'm hopeful on a 2018 release date. I'm inspired by the interview and pictures of Justin in the jam space. Thanks for posting it on fb hellboy.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Great interview, that's all I've been wanting to hear this whole time....actual details and estimates!
If that's where they're at, then fine, but it's been so frustrating just hearing vague "we're writing" answers for the last 8 years, and everyone's thinking or hoping that it's right around the corner.
My best guess is a 2019 release. If APC is indeed putting out a new album soon, they'll probably be doing a world tour similar to, if not bigger than, the one Puscifer just did, which should take them well into 2018 (which is fine with me, I love APC too). Hopefully by the time that run comes to an end, the new Tool stuff will be finalized and/or ready for lyrics, and they can hit the studio by the end of '18.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
It's kinda sad when where all "hopeful" of an album over a year from now
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
It is. People are slowly starting to go from 'later this year' to 'a year or two from now'. Becoming desensitized lol. That being said, great article with Justin. Everytime he opens up I appreciate him a little more, and hang on to the notion that this album will be finished some day. Give or take a few years

Is anyone still in the running from original guesses for release date or have we all expired by now?

I remember Crow (too soon!) said "never" so he's in the lead.

Haha way to go Tony Crow-Danza! I'd put a wager on Mog speculating that we'd still be waiting come 2018 as hyperbole and here we are.

I think I've said 2018 for about a year but initially thought 2011. Lol.Busty McCracken wrote:Is anyone still in the running from original guesses for release date or have we all expired by now?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Apparently Justin has another project on the go:
That Foals remix for those interested:"BANDWIDTH" ON REMIXES & ORIGINAL MATERIAL
Some news involving Tool band members: JUSTIN and SCOTT KIRKLAND (from "The Crystal Method") have TOGETHER done a remix of the PUSCIFER track,"SIMULTANEOUS" (from "MONEY SHOT") on the new Puscifer "MONEY SHOT YOUR RE LOAD" album (http://www.offwhiterecords.com). "BANDWIDTH" (the name of Justin and Scott's joint project) have also recently remixed the "FOALS" track entitled "WHAT WENT DOWN" (check out on YOUTUBE). Best of all, however, "BANDWIDTH" are currently working on their OWN material. So, check out their remixes, and look forward to originals!

I would totally be down for a Tool Crystal Method joint tour. Maybe next year at Coachella?
