hm, for me tool is still a very physical band
its probably good for them financially and artistically also (greater impact and audience etc)
but on the other hand, it was never that easily accessable band, not that typical product you can consume so simple as a cheeseburger in mcdonalds

the only way i can imagine it is on a private streaming sub-site on a new, working site, where you can stream it in HD, separate pages for different albums and videos, with extras like commentary, documentary, etc

but as a part of a dedicated website with its distinct atmosphere

It's inevitable that Tool will end up on the music streaming services eventually. I won't be losing any sleep over it.

I can't remember the last time I listened to Tool in a non-digital format.

I just assumed these talks had been going on for years. There's no downside for them; fans have easier access to their music and they make, probably not much, but some money. Surely there's a way to amend their contract to allow digital services. Maybe this is one of those lawsuits Adam keeps blaming as the cause of their lack of productivity. The first thing people do when they purchase CDs is rip it to their computer and put it on their mobile phones/music players, and sometimes in suspect quality. They'd be shortening the process.

You mean like some sort of fanclub where people have to pay for membership?... Nice idea but there's absolutely zero chance of this happening. They can't even be bothered to update their public website. It looks like it was designed by a middle schooler in 1998.

Patiently awaiting for TOOL to release 10000 days and the new album on vinyl.

In the past Tool has released vinyl of their previous album just prior to releasing a new album. If i remember correctly Lateralus was released on vinyl just prior to 10000 days release.

Not to derail the discussion about streaming, but since vinyl was brought up it prompted me to see how the tracks would be arranged on an eventual '10,000 Days' release. Thankfully it appears that '10,000 Days' would be able to keep it's track order, unlike the 'Lateralus' vinyl.

Vicarious 7:06
Jambi 7:28
14:34

Wings for Marie (Pt 1) 6:11
10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2) 11:14
17:25

The Pot 6:22
Lipan Conjuring 1:11
Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) 3:46
Rosetta Stoned 11:11
22:30

Intension 7:21
Right in Two 8:55
Viginiti Tres 5:02
21:18
