This will be their last album. They are all in their 50s with Danny fast approaching 60. This is it. We might get a DVD at some point or some unreleased tracks/Salival part 2 sort of thing but this will be Tool’s last full length album.

They wasted an entire album cycle getting here which is sad and pathetic but it is what it is.

August 30th is it. The last Tool album. Annnnd we still have no idea what it is called. Fucking Tool

Why does it mean so much what the albums called? Am I the only one on here that doesn't really see it as that important? All I cared about was a release date and confirmation it's happening which we got. I guess I'm curious how many songs are gonna be on there but album title ... meh

i think people are fed up with delays, lack of info etc etc. at a certain point nothing can live up to that b.s but they live in a fantasy land in ways so this is what happens. you wouldnt know it cause im posting about it but i do feel like its not worth it tonight. just the way it goes sorta.

One month from now everyone will be loving each other, talking all about how said new song builds on said new song. New tool's on your doorstep, and it's been a long time coming

As pointed out it's just symbolic of the delay. The new Rammstein album didn't even really get a name until weeks before release, so personally not having a Tool album title is the least of my problems.

We know when it'll be out - anything between now and then is just a nicety.

I’m fully anticipating this to be their last full album.

I imagine the next couple of years will be touring, and then Adam Jones will labour over live albums/special anniversary editions/videos etc for the next decade plus.

I think if we are lucky, inspiration may strike all of the band members and we might get a couple of track EP sometime in the future.

Maynard will churn out another 2-3 Puscifer albums and maybe one final APC record in the next decade, if Billy is able to come up with more music a bit quicker this time around.

Until Maynard says this new album is the last than I'm taking what you said about this new album with a grain of salt. What you said is pure speculation. If you don't have a trusted source or proof than you dont really know. I'm sorry Hellboy. You're making a statement that only Tool knows. You can say whatever you want, but maybe you should start by saying I think it's the last album or site a source. No one knows. Sorry, MOG

FFS Olaf, Tool themselves don't know. One of em could lose both their arms in a nasty potato peeler incident. Nothing is certain in life. Enjoy what you have and treat anything new as a bonus. There's a life lesson to be learned here outside of music.

Maynard and I were chatting

And I said to Maynard "So Mayni (that's what I call him, its a pet name) when is the next TooL album due. You know, the one after the next one that isn't out yet".

And Maynard say's to me "Liz when I know you'll be the very next person to know".

Hodef I'll let you know.

Right after I tell Mog.

Hodefinitely their last album. These fuckers are my age, and I’M not planning on putting any more albums out. So there you have it.

Are you a member of Tool or Maynard

If you are not a member of the band Tool or Maynard than your word means next to nothing. Even if you are not planning on making new albums that doesn't mean Tool isnt. So, there you don't have it. I think you said that to shut me up. You would have to prove that you are Maynard, and you can't. I choose to remain hopeful until there are multiple articles with Maynard saying it'sthe last album.
