Anybody else watching Penny Dreadful? It's been particularly awesome this season.

I think The Boss was the only one 'round here showing an interest. Haven't checked it out myself, but it looks passing strange from the promos I've seen.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I wouldn't say she's completely devoid of the funny, but she tries way too hard.

She's still riding the same running joke.... "I'm a blonde, alcoholic, slut"

New material needed..

Out of curiosity I looked at her imdb. She has a movie coming out where she plays a blonde alcoholic slut.

She's about as funny as most American comedians I've found.

Lately, I might start to agree. 20-30 years ago? No one could come close to our comedians.

Anybody been watching Wayward Pines? I've been watching it and it's pretty solid. Not the best show on TV, by any stretch, but solid summer entertainment nonetheless.

It gets even better. Season two is fantastic. Season 3 just started and it's something else entirely. I fucking love this show.

I actually took a break from binge watching Deadwood from episode one to trek into the city to my favorite IMAX theater. It is one of the top rated theaters in the state. we ventured out into the heat and humidity (my girl and I) to see Jurassic World because I'm a 34 year old child that absolutely loves dinosaurs. it was a lot of fun but I must suggest watching it in IMAX format. 3D was not totally necessary but you have to see it on a huge screen. it was pretty intense I must say, the suspenseful parts got me white knuckled a little bit. I also love Ron Howard's daughter who's name escapes me. she's strikingly beautiful and a more than decent actress. from the trailers I thought Chris Pratt was a little miss-cast, I was dead wrong. he really made the movie what it was, that's the second time I made that mistake. first was with Guardians of The Galaxy. that will be the last time I underestimate THAT guy. Jurassic World was more of a thriller/horror movie than an action/adventure movie. I wouldn't take the LITTLE little ones, it was pretty fucking violent. mad people get eaten compared to the first three movies, it actually wasn't even close lol. Vincent D'Onofrio was in it, who knew? he plays a great scumbag. the opening sequence when the doors first open to the park was BEAUTIFUL, great scope man. the CGI was AMAZING, especially in the beginning. they really try and set the tone. not everything was computer generated, there were some excellent up close models and blending of CGI in. made everything much more realistic.

I love dinosaurs, I really do, if you don't love them (that's love with an "L") I would stay home. that being said, my expectations for the movie were kinda low going in but my excitement level was very high. if that makes sense. I was impressed.

a solid film 7 and an IMAX 9.

[a film 10 being Apocalypse Now, The Godfather. an IMAX 10 being Avatar, 2012]

Hannibal is on my Amazon plate, I was told to watch Rome also (HBO). I heard it was short as Deadwood was (which is now my all time favorite show and I'm not even done yet). The Wire is also in the que which was longer I believe (5 or 6 seasons?)

The Wire is 5 seasons. Though it should've been fifty seasons.

The Wire is must see. Definitely one of the best shows ever. In my top 10. Number one being Breaking Bad.

Funnily enough, I saw JW with a girl who is a friend. Not a girlfriend. Girls have shitty taste in movies.
