Album of the week - Have a nice life - Deathconsciousness

Post by not tyson »

As hellboy hasn't made a new list yet and there is a lacking of a new album suggested around the Thursday/Friday timetable, I felt it only natural to jump the none existent queue

Sunshine,rainbows and lollipops

Meh - They are trying to pull from a number of different genres but are ineffective at blending them together. I can think of numerous examples of bands/albums that blend multiple genres together seamlessly and this band is no where in the same vicinity. I commend them for trying, and they do have a few good moments, but all in all it is a fairly weak album. 5 / 10

Thanks Tyson - have no problems with you jumping the queue. It looks like the Album of the Week concept is waning a little, and I've been a little busy to put in the effort. I will listen to this album later in the week.

An interesting mix of sounds.
I liked parts but not all of it.

I liked it. I thought the mix of styles was cool, but not cohesive which would've been more interesting. Would return to it.

It was alright, but it never really grabbed me at all. There were a couple of times where I forgot it was even playing.

Fair enough. I guess our rubrics are different.

I never really thought about it until earlier when you pointed that out, but my rubric makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

Seem like you're having a hard time accepting that people have differing tastes in music. It's really not the end of the world. Maybe next time you shouldn't bother submitting an album if you're going to get so upset that no one likes it.

OK, finally revisited this and got through it, or most of it. I had to FF some truly awful bits. First impression: Horrible engineering. Very amateur job. One of the most annoying snare sounds I've ever encountered. Awkward use of reverb throughout. If they were going for this as a 'vibe', they nailed it.

I love genre shifting albums, but this is just a mess. Regardless, I could never listen to this again just because of the horrendous drums.

Either trolling ultra hard, or you've been hitting the rock. Uh yeah, no.
