Yesterday, Rammstein announced a two-night New Year's party show in Mexico that will only be for "a limited group of fans around the world." Then came the messages on the ticketing site.
The band has since stated that the fans attending the New Year's shows will "very likely be the first to hear the new songs" and that they're "in the final phase of the production of their seventh studio album which will be released before the end of the year." Maybe the first message means those fans will be the first to hear the new songs live? Unless Rammstein is going to just drop the album in its entirety on January 1, 2019, though that wouldn't be "before the end of the year." So I'm going with the whole first to hear 'em live" thing.

Pantera drummer and co-founder Vinnie Paul dies at 54
Vinnie Paul, the drummer and co-founder of heavy metal band Pantera, has died, the group announced in a statement on Facebook.
The Texas-born musician died aged 54 on Friday evening, but no cause of death has been given yet.
By no means am I trying to argue that St Anger is a solid album, but this is an absolutely cracking read that I really enjoyed. Raises some interesting takes on it all

Ipecac Recordings teased something today, not quite sure what it is, but sounds Tomahawk-esque:
Update: it certainly appears that Duane, John and Trev were recording a year ago in Nashville. Even though I wasn't a massive fan of Oddfellows, I'd be pretty happy with a new Tomahawk album...

Yeah, I think I saw an IG post from Trevor Dunn about being in the studio with Tomahawk earlier this year so it seems likely.

Nope, it's a new Daughters track, which is also somewhat unexpected, but also excites me greatly:

What are the chances it's more Temple of Boom rather than Skull and Bones?

Watch Isis Reunite, Cave In, Old Man Gloom, Etc. Perform At This Weekend’s Caleb Scofield Benefit Show
The show took place at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA yesterday, October 13th.
It also featured performances from 27, Old Man Gloom and Pelican as well as finding Isis reuniting for the first time in roughly eight years, appearing under the name of ‘Celestial‘. The band adopted the name of their 2000 debut album for the set given the associations their previous moniker now has.
Their performance in particular starts around 02:55:20 into the below video.
Songs performed included:
“Carry”
“So Did We”
“In Fiction”
“The Beginning And The End”
“Celestial (The Tower)”
