Lyrics aside, the music gives me goosebumps. And the flow of the vocals is great too

I'd say 99% of his lyrics are anti cheese, this one just sticks out like a sore thumb given the subject matter.

Perhaps cheesy is the wrong word, whiny would be more suited.

It's just I thought Maynard had more emotional maturity to write something like this in his 30's.

I realised a long time ago, probably before I was a teen with a face like mine I shouldn't be chasing attractive women.

Would explain the beating his ex rumors.

He surely can't believe his current wife is with him for looks alone.

Also the cherry on top, they aren't receptive to his come ons because they are 'wounded'.

Do people actually indulge in rumors? Don't believe everything u read or come across in the media Man. Most of its bullshit. Life throws a fuck load of curve balls at you, and some cases even more than others. Who gives a fuck if shit didn't work out with one chick? Females be crazy even if they seem normal. There are countless outcomes in relationships, and this so happened to be ONE. Still a great tune, chicks dig the sensuality of it, and might just benefit u after the show. I think it came from a a question Tyson asked Maynard at a Tool gig in Oz years ago:

Tyson: "Hey Maynard, you still beating your wife?"
Maynard: "No!... wait..."

I read it somewhere years ago, on TDN forum I think, some one who knew him before he was big.

Maybe Tyson got confused when MJK said he liked beating Pat. Pat being the nickname MJK gave to his dong but Tyson thought he was talking about a former lover of our beloved rockstar since Pat is one of those kinda could be male or female names.
