Triple J to play Vicarious

It’s been confirmed that Triple J will be playing Tool’s new song Vicarious at 9:00am EST on Tuesday the 18th of April. Dedicated Tool fans will have probably heard the song by then, but it’s good to see Australian radio (one station at least) picking up the song. Triple J streams over the internet, so overseas listeneds can tune in via their website.

According to Mort (sorry!), Triple J have also confirmed that there will be a Tool interview coming soon.

Leaked Artwork?

Several people sent me some links to these images, supposedly from the 10,000 Days liner notes:

Looks good to me, and considering that would appear to be Maynard in one of the, presumably legitimate. It’s also stereoscopic if you’re eyes can cope with that.

Thanks to Grimface on Toolnavy for the info.  Thanks also to Darkmoogle for some tips regarding the ordering of the photos.  Check he comments below for some more details.
And one last thing, a couple of you may wonder why your comments containing links to these pics didn’t appear, that’s because all comments with URL’s are automaticlly required to be moderated. So if you happen to post while I’m away from the computer, expect a short delay. Thanks for the posts though!

Upcoming Tool Radio Interview on PBS 106.7FM

Elgyn on Toolnavy directed me to this website which says:

Thursday 20 April 2006 THE DRIVE-THRU 17:00-19:00 with Andrew Yule

Thursday 20 April Andrew Yule has a laid back chat with Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor of TOOL on the Drive Thru (5pm – 7pm). The boys talk about their new album (due out in May) and reflect on the band’s new found standing as the elder statesmen of rock/metal.

I’m guessing this is a US radio station, most likely in LA, so make sure you tune in. Feel free to request a Tool tune in my name as well, since that’ll be my Birthday.

Edit: It’s a Melbourne radio station, maybe the same one that “played” 10,000 Days last night.  LOL

Alex Grey Comments, 10,000 Days Review?

Smoothcriminal from Toolarmy visited the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors this weekend, and had the opportunity to watch a presentation from Alex Grey. In regards to the new Tool CD Alex said:

He is very happy to be working with Tool again, He said the new album is “fucking incredible”, and regarding the CD packaging; “the unit itself is like nothing anyone has ever done before”….

Copro also from Toolarmy posted this review of 10,000 Days he found in UK’s Rock Sound Magazine:

TOOL
10,000 Days
The expectations built up from the five year absence would be too much for most bands to bear, but as 10,000 Days reminds us, TOOL are not like most bands. From the outset, it is clear that the LA prog-metal pioneers have found another notch on their guitar amps, but the increase in volume and power has not been made at the expense of their usual complexity. Although never a cheery soul at the best of times, Maynard James Keenans lyrical tack has not been this bleak since their earliest days, but bad times and horrible thoughts have again led TOOL to some great music. Another triumph conjured with adversity rather than against it.

No idea how legitimate this interview is, but it reveals nothing we don’t already know. In fact, I bet any of you out there could write a better review without even hearing the CD. Feel free to do so below….

German Listening Parties

Achtung! Dustin emailed me today reminding me of the upcoming German 10,000 Days listening parties on the 27th of April. He translates:

Attention Tool fans: A day to find the album offered on the 27 of April in selected clubs – Get it F!rst Events! In six German cities the songs from the new album will be presented publicly for the first time. Furthermore there will be a unique Tool Concert raffle. Two lucky winners (will get to go to Rock Am Ring) [note-not exactly sure about that sentence] The Get it First Release parties are in Berlin (Sage Club), Bochum (Planet), Stuttgart (Club Prag), Aachen (Nightlife), München (Keller) and Frankfurt (O 25).

Not sure how the raffle will work, but if I get some more information I’ll let you all know!

I’ve got 3 more signed vinyls to post on the site as well. Didn’t get time on the weekend, but hopefully I’ll get them up soon!

Auf Wiedersehen!

There’s also some stuff there written in German. My German ain’t too good, but I think it doesn’t really say anything we don’t already know. Any German readers out there, feel free to post the translation as a comment.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ve updated the Stylesheet on Fourtheye to be a little whiter and brighter. Some readers have said that they still see the posts with a black background that makes the site very hard to read. I think this is some sort of caching issue, so I’d suggest to all of you, refresh your cache. If you continue to have problems, let me know and I’ll look into it further.

Update! Turns out IE didn’t like my CSS changes (which is kinda my fault, CSS wasn’t valid). Problem has now been rectified. If you were using Firefox you’d have never noticed…..

Notice: Stylesheet Changes

I’m currently playing around with the Fourtheye CSS, so expect some “weirdness” in the next few hours. The site should remain readable though.

Just pretend you’re at Camilla’s Birthday Party……

Here’s a random quote I’ve inserted just to help with testing:

Think for yourself. Question Authority.

Blair

Blair. (bl-air) v. : 1. To say and do things that appear mysterious, but are of little consequence. ie. “Little Susan was so excited about her pet rock that she blaired all evening.” 2. To be tricked or fooled by Blair. ie. “You just got Blair’d!”

Thanks to Karf on Toolnavy for that one, and apologies to Blair, we really do love you!
