10,000 Days

Aria Charts 2006

I was having a look through the charts for the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) 2006 Album sales charts today, have a look at where Tool sat as far as sales were concerned last year.  Tool’s 10,000 Days found itself in position 37.  Bands selling more than Tool last year included Scissor Sisters (Ta Dah!), Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Stadium Arcadium) and The Killers (Sam’s Town).  Some of the bands… Read More »Aria Charts 2006

This Beat Could Win Me A Grammy…

Tool have collected a couple of nominations for this years Grammy Awards.  This year they have been nominated for: Best Hard Rock Performance for Vicarious.  Up against Nine Inch Nails, Buckcherry, Wolfmother and System of a Down Best Record Packaging for 10,000 Days. They seem to have done alright in the past with Grammy Awards, so hopefully they’ll pick something up again this time around.  Winners will be announced on… Read More »This Beat Could Win Me A Grammy…

Tool in California (again) and Alex Grey 10000 Days

A friend of clg2112 says that Tool are definitely playing the Staples Center in California on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September.  I’m sure confirmation of this will appear on Toolband in due course. Blksun from Toolarmy shares with us a picture of his copy of 10,000 Days signed by Alex Grey.  Looks good to me.

Record Sales

Not really any news today, so I though I’d quickly comment on the recent record sales.  We all know that Tool sold 564,000 copies of 10,000 Days in the US, which is an impressive figure for any band, and outstrips the sales on Lateralus as well.  As it turns out, that’s the highest selling CD in one week so far in 2006. Since the Red Hot Chilli Peppers new CD… Read More »Record Sales

“The best album art since the 70’s”

I found this article on Yahoo Music today, which talks about 10,000 Days, with a few quotes from Adam, and also from their record company Zomba: Fans love it, says Bryan Everitt, director of music operations for the 153-store Hastings Entertainment chain. “It’s great to see music lovers reading the liner notes and really enjoying holding the product in their hands again.” (Adam) Jones, who came up with the concept,… Read More »“The best album art since the 70’s”

Alex Grey & Adam Jones interview

Jonathon submitted this link to me this morning, which contains a very interesting interview with both Alex Grey and Adam Jones in relation to the Tool’s 10,000 Days artwork. The article also contains a few audio and visual samples for you all to enjoy. One important thing mentioned is that the Vicarious video, which features Grey’s artwork should be out early July.

10,000 Days in the charts

According to this post on Toolnavy 10,000 Days is doing pretty well in the charts. Here’s the few of the positions recorded so far: Australia #1 New Zealand #1 UK #4 Germany #3 Italy #4 Netherlands #1 Belgium #2 Norway #1 Portugal #6 So come on Tool, give those countries that made you number 1 a little extra loving and announce some tour dates.

Tool #1

So anyway, I went shopping today and noticed that 10,000 Days had been promoted to the #1 position, with Pearl Jam taking #2.  I’m sure the official confirmation will come shortly…… Don’t forget Tool are programming Rage tonight.  Start’s just after 11pm if memory serves me correctly.
