APC Tour 2010

A Perfect Circle ticket sales wrap-up

Tickets for the November 2010 A Perfect Circle West Coast tour went on sale over the last 24 hours, and as expected there have been a few successes, as well as some failures.  The venues for all shows are quite small, and as a result getting tickets was hard work, but it appears to me that the majority of those who put in some time planning their attack managed to get tickets.

Still, there will be plenty of you who didn’t get them, and while I can’t help with tickets myself, I can offer the services of the Fourtheye forum to assist in your hunt.  MAGNUS has taken the liberty of starting a ticket trading forum, and I suggest you all use it.

Let’s all try and take this like adults and keep the grumbling to a minimum.  The venues were small, in some cases under 1000 seats, so as a result getting tickets were always going to be tough. Take it like a man/woman.  We all know scalpers suck, so posts like “goddamn scalpers lets kill them all” are unnecessary and won’t change anything.

Billy chats about A Perfect Circle reunion

Via the A Perfect Circle Facebook page I came across this interview with Billy in regards to A Perfect Circle on Gun Shy Assassin.  Amongst other things we already know, it also mentions that they’re planning on making a DVD from these reunion shows:

But that’s not all. In addition, Howerdel says he’d like to document the upcoming reunion shows for a possible DVD release in the fall of 2011. He also spoke about what brought A Perfect Circle back together, and the possibility of more shows this coming spring and summer…depending on how far along in the writing process Tool are at that point for their next LP.

Not a long interview but worth a quick read…

They also had the following words of wisdom:

Reminder, tickets for Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle and Las Vegas shows go on sale tomorrow, Friday Sept. 24. Shows are on-sale at 10 am pacific except Las Vegas which is on sale at 12 noon. Tickets can be purchased at the venue box office or online. LA, Seattle and Las Vegas can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com; Phoenix (Tempe) can be purchased through Luckymanonline.com. It doesn’t seem to say where the tickets are being sold, but I’m guessing via Ticketmaster

Update: According to Facebook tickets will be via Ticketmaster.  There are no pre-sales and there is a limit of two tickets per person.  There will be 3-day passes for every town except Vegas.

More A Perfect Circle show details

A few more details have come in regarding the just announced APC shows:

The band itself will include Maynard, Billy, Josh Freese, James Iha and Matt McJunkins (Ashes Divide, Puscifer).  According to a recent Rolling Stone interview (more on that later) Paz, Troy and Jeordie have also been invited and may appear at some shows.

Live Nation has dates up for the Las Vegas shows (the 20th and 21st of November at The Pearl), and there will be a presale for these shows.  I don’t see them on that site, but kdub420 says the LA shows are on the 8th, 9th and 10th of November.

In other news, Maynard spoke with Rolling Stone about A Perfect Circle, and that interview can be found here.  He mentions that Tool won’t be recording anytime soon, so I guess the rumours I heard of them hitting the studio later this month are pretty much busted right now.  Thanks to Nathan for the tip.

A Perfect Circle show details announced

Just as I’d gone to bed an email slips into my inbox with details on the upcoming A Perfect Circle tour:

A Perfect Circle will play Phoenix (Marquee Theatre), Los Angeles (Avalon), Seattle (Showbox at The Market), San Francisco (The Fillmore) and Las Vegas (The Pearl) this fall.  Each of the three-night stops will feature one of A Perfect Circle’s albums in its entirety (Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step and eMOTIVe).  Las Vegas (The Pearl) will be a two-night outing (Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step).

Dates and ticket on-sale information to you shortly.

A Perfect Circle performs on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Oct. 27.

I guess we’ll have more details soon.  My guess is the dates will follow the appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.  I wonder how many people will go to the eMOTIVe shows?

Now to go back to sleep and dream of Tool gigs in Australia…
