November Newsletter

The November newsletter is finally up on Toolband, and it’s a two parter. The first half is found here, while the second half is found on the Butcher website. There’s a link at the bottom of the first half just in case you miss it.

  1. http://www.toolband.com/news/letter/2005_11.php
  2. http://butcherband.com/newsletter.htm

I’ve only skimmed through it, but it doesn’t look like there’s any (non-cryptic) info on the new Tool CD. Sounds interesting though, Mexico has always been on my list of places to visit.

Crowleymas

Just a final couple of things on the Toolarmy Crowleymas chat.

It will start at 9pm PST (2pm AEST 13th Oct.) and the chat rooms should be back up sometime before then, though as I write this I seemed to be able to login, but not able to do anything.

Guests Include:

  • Adam, Maynard and & Danny. No Justin because he’s away.
  • Alex Grey
  • Aaron from Isis
  • kaRIN and Statik from Collide
  • Scott, Sasha, Jeff and Camella from Butcher
  • Hopefully Buzz and Dale from The Melvins
  • Maybe Aloke Dutta and John Zeigler
  • Maybe some others? Axl Rose?

See you all there and don’t forget to say hello to me (hellboy)!

Puscifier, Butcher, Vinyl

Ultimate Guitar note that Puscifier appear on the Saw 2 soundtrack, specifically Danny Lohner’s REV 4:20 Mix of “REV 22:20″. For those that don’t know, Puscifier is a band featuring Maynard and Danny Lohner, and if memory serves me correctly, have appeared on other soundtracks in the past (Underworld maybe?). Also on the soundtrack and many nu-metal bands, but also Revolting Cocks.

I also forgot the mention that Butcher played the other day. Ah well, I hope you made it to see them, I guess the odds of them ever appearing in Australia are pretty low :(

Blair mentioned yesterday that some more copies of the Lateralus Vinyl is available, both on Toolband and also via Lobal Orning. Note that these are still unautographed copies.

Butcher Release “Auricle”, Lobal Orning Shirts

Toolband.com was updated today, and has to new articles, the first regarding Butcher, and the second talking about Justin Chancellor’s Lobal Orning Limited Edition T-Shirts.

For those who don’t know, Butcher are a band featuring Adam’s Wife, and Tool video projectionist Camilla. Personally I’ve never heard any of their music, but they sounds interesting. Check them out at www.butcherband.com.

Being as I live in Australia and haven’t been to LA, I’ve never visited Lobal Orning, but the T-Shirts do look cool. Maybe if I’m feeling rich enough I’ll order one. In the mean time visit their website! www.lobalorning.com

Prying Open

About two years ago, I discovered RSS feeds. As simple method of streaming information and news from a correctly set up website.

Shortly after that I discovered a Blog, the Living Colour Blog, which outlined the news and events of the band Living Colour. It included an RSS feed, which I find makes life very easy to collect the kind of information I wanted about the band.

Today, as I searched for some information on my favorite band, Tool, I found that there was no such equivalent website/RSS feed. So here it is.

The goals of this Blog include not only collecting Tool news and events, but also the various side projects and other goings on involving the four members of Tool. This will include, but is not restricted to A Perfect Circle, Pigmy Love Circus, etc.

This site is not meant to override any of the other great Tool recources out there, this is simply to provide an RSS link to the information, as well as some possible commentry on the events.

Thanks for joining me on this ride, and feel free to comment at any time, as well as submitting any information that I and any other Tool finds may find useful.

Matt
