A Perfect Circle join Ottawa Bluesfest

In what’s turning out to be a busy day for A Perfect Circle announcements, it seems as though they will also be playing at the Ottawa Bluesfest on the 10th of July.  This festival, which spans a couple of weeks is bringing a pretty amazing lineup of acts including Soundgarden, Huey Lewis & the News, Joe Satriani and Shpongle.  The official website seems to be having problems at the moment, but you can check details here.

A Perfect Circle shows Canada more love

Just got an email from imbread_love_child who sent me a link to the Boonstock Music Festival website, and it looks like A Perfect Circle will be headlining one of the days.  The rest of the lineup looks pretty terrible, but at least there’s one act worth seeing!  The festival itself is late June, early July 2011, and there doesn’t seem to be any information on what day APC are playing.

Presumably we might see some more dates trickle down to us in the coming weeks…

Update: From A Perfect Circle’s Twitter feed

Stand by for the announcement of summer dates around North America.

Adam Jones in Toronto?

Sianspheric sent me an email today telling me that a friend of his noticed the following in a press release regarding the Canadian Music Week festival on Toronto in March:

  • Adam Jones (Tool) / Saturday March 12 / Trinity St Paul’s / 7:00pm (A World premiere multimedia presentation) – Tickets on sale Friday, January 14 at 10am.

Your guess is as good as mine as to what it’s about.  Maybe a new side project, or the unveiling of a much speculated one?  Perhaps something to do with the Y Incision project, which coincidentally nxrm pointed out has had an update, including this vague statement:

Lastly, we are hoping to soon announce a music component to these packages that I am very excited about, but we have a few details to work out first. Trust me when I say, it’s huge and cool as fucking hell.

Tool Tour dates trickle in

I received exactly 616 emails last night from various members of the Fourtheye community telling me that Ticketmaster have confirmed a couple of Tool concerts in Canada going on sale later this month.  These dates also appear on Live Nation as well as a short article in the Edmonton Journal.

Dates I am aware of so far:

  • July 7 Rexall Place, Edmonton, Canada
  • July 9 General Motors Place, Vancouver, Canada
  • ? July Key Arena, Seattle, WA

Nothing has been officially confirmed on Toolband yet, but if they’re appearing on Ticketmaster then you can bet they’re pretty legit!  Enjoy your tour North Americans.  I wish Tool would one day go “fuck it let’s randomly tour Australia”.

As for the rest of the dates, I have no further information, if they’re playing Seattle, then I’d expect a bunch of West Coast dates, or at the very least San Francisco, Los Angeles and probably San Diego shows.  Calgary is being strongly rumoured as well.  I would think that we’d get some sort of official confirmation in the very near future.

Update: The tour has been confirmed by Blair on Toolband.  More dates to come and should go on sale May 8.  No word on the scope of this tour, but the newsletter released today seems to suggest it may be a West Coast mini tour.

Update 2: Also make sure you check out the new Tool Summer Tour 2010 page I just created.  It will contain a summary of all the latest information regarding the tour.

Kingston Tickets Still Available

Adam sent me an email today to let me know that tickets for Tool‘s Kingston gig in Canada are still available:

Tickets for Kingston show went on sale June 27 at 10:00am. Just checked venue site http://www.k-rockcentre.com/ at 10:50pm June 30 , still GA available and I’m assuming killer seats. Let everyone know!! Not on sale through Ticketbastard!

For those of you still deciding when and where to see Tool, then this might be a good option.

New Tour Dates

Been away hiking through the Flinders Ranges the last couple of days, so have been a bit slack with the updates.

In case any of you have missed it, there have been a couple of new dates confirmed on the upcoming Tool summer tour.  Toronto has been confirmed, and a new show in Cincinnatti has been added:

  • AUGUST 5/09 – Toronto, ON – Molson Amphitheatre / ON-SALE 6/13
  • AUGUST 7/09 – Cincinnati, OH – PNC Pavilion / ON-SALE 6/20

In other Tool-ish news, check out the Offline by Matthew Santoro thread for much “Big Thing” speculation, including comments from Tool Lighting Dude Junior.

Toronto Rumour, Danny’s Drum

Got an email today talking of “rumours flying around” about a Toronto Tool gig at the Molson Ampitheatre on the 7th of August. Seems to fit into their current schedule, but I’ve heard nothing concrete at this stage.  Have added this to the rumours section on the  Tour Page.

Also, Blair posted an article on Toolband talking about a Volto! gig on the 5th of June.  Included with the article is this cool pic of Danny with a snare drum featuring some Alex Grey artwork.
