Good deal for European fans, seeing them a couple of times this year.  A little disappointed there’s not a run of Australian shows.  I don’t think there are big enough gaps in the calendar for that to happen now – perhaps early 2019.

A Perfect Circle announce UK dates

A Perfect Circle have announced a couple of shows in the UK – one in Manchester on the 12th of June, and another in London on the 13th.  i think it’d be a safe assumption that we’ll see more European dates, I expect some of which will be festivals.  Here’s the poster:

Speaking of festivals – word is the Download Festival is coming to Australia in March next year.  Given that APC seem to be pretty actively touring, it’d come as no surprise to me to see them Down Under around that time.  Stay tuned!

Axl Rose to join Tool on European tour

In news just at hand, Gun’s n’ Roses legend Axl Rose is reportedly filling in for Maynard on a special Tool tour to Europe later in 2016. Adam Jones says:

“We connected with Axl recently at a party in Malibu, and got talking about Chinese Democracy and some of the problem he went through during it’s protracted writing/recording process. We had plenty in common, and it became apparent that we should try something different on our next tour. Maynard is busy with his wine harvest, so it seemed like a no brainer.”

Word is that the tour will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ænima and will feature the album played in full. A special tour blanket designed by Adi Granov will also be available for $300.

Looks like Puscifer will be getting over to Europe and taking part in the Nova Rock Festival in Austria on the 9th of June. Joining them on the day will be such greats as Korn, Billy Talent and Breaking Benjamin!

I’d say it’s pretty likely more shows will be added, so stay tuned!

Herman Li on Tool

Last week Dragonforce’s Herman Li playing with Tool during Lateralus during the August 22nd show at the Brixton Academy.  According to Blabbermouth, he had the following to say about Tool:

TOOL‘s a unique band. It was fun to enter their world and improvise something to their style of music in front of their big audience.

I wonder who else Tool will get to join them on stage before the tour is out…..

Tool change Croatian show?

fortysixand2 posted on Toolarmy today that the show on the 4th of September has been changed from Salata to Dom Sportova. Here’s a link in a language I can’t understand which may or may not explain the situation. If anyone can translate it then let me know!

Update: Ivana just emailed me and tells me that the move to Dom Sportova is simply because it of demand for the tickets, and Dom Sportova is a bigger venue.  Enjoy the show!

Back In Black!

Word is Maynard has recovered sufficiently for Tool to play the Gampal Festival in Switzerland. Thanks to the Tool Hotline!

Tool Cancel Austrian show!

According to a post on Toolband/Army, Tool have been forced to cancel the upcoming show at the Frequency Festival in Austria.  It looks like Maynard has contracted a throat infection and isn’t able to perfrom.  No word on if any other dates will be cancelled.

Let’s all hope for a speedy recovery for Maynard, and hopefully a minimal disruption for the remainder of the tour!

Russian Circles to support Tool in UK

Thanks to the Tool Hotline who tell me that Chicago band Russian Circles will be supporting Tool on the three UK dates on the upcoming tour.  Sounds like they got the job because Isis, Pelican and These Arms Are Snakes weren’t available, that and Justin Chancellor seemed to like their music.  Check out how they got the gig in this Drowned In Sound interview, then go and have a listen on their Myspace site.
