Some footage from Artisan News Service/Youtube has been released which shows some of the drum off between Danny and Brann from Mastodon with backing band VOLTO! at the recent Guitar Centre Drum Off:

Danny judges at Guitar Center Drum-off
According to a post I read on Wired, Danny will be judging at a Drum-Off at Guitar Center (in LA?) on the 10th of January 2009:
including Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Tool’s Danny Carey, No Doubt’s Adrian Young, Avenged Sevenfold’s The Rev and session vet Kenny Aronoff. Those distinguished musicians will be joined by celebration host and Jane’s Addiction slammer Stephen Perkins, The Mars Volta’s Thomas Pidgeon, Shadows Fall’s Jason Bittner, and Papa Roach, which performs a headliner set.
Sounds like fun!
