Alex emailed me a link this morning to a new interview with Maynard by Dana from Wine Spectator. Don’t go expecting Tool, APC and Pucsifer news and you won’t come away disappointed…

Tool progress is progressing, Sasquatch spotted!
A couple of marginally interesting Tool items appeared in the last day, the first being a snippet from a recent Maynard interview reported on Blabbermouth:
As for the status of the next TOOL album — which Keenan gets asked about in every interview — the singer gave The Pulse Of Radio an update and warned fans not to believe everything they read. "We’re just always writing and it’s just progressing as it progresses," he said. "We normally don’t say anything about anything until it’s actually happening, because there’s a lot of people online that apparently can’t read very well. I put an April Fool’s notice up there for the album release, and it was this year, 2011, I said, ‘New TOOL album, such-and-such a date, 2009, and everybody ran around like, ‘Oh, really, the new TOOL –?’ God, you guys are dumb. I swear to God. You’ve got to read. Please, read."
I hope there is no one that dumb who reads Fourtheye.
Secondly Blair shares a picture of the Arizona Bigfoot he recently encountered and managed to snap on his iPhone:

This long haired and bearded beast looks a little like Adam. ZEMKLA JR revealed?
Official stream of Puscifer’s Man Overboard
For those of you that missed it, the official stream on the new Puscifer track Man Overboard can be found on the Spin website. Not sure if the track is available on iTunes yet, from memory it should be available by the 19th of July though.
If sea shanties are your thing, then you may enjoy these lyrics thrown together by polarbear_15:
Blood sky, red mornin’
Shoulda’ seen the warnin’.Captain to the seamen,
"Man your battlestations.
Poseidon’s on a mission,
‘Bout to turn it up to 11."Captain to the seaman,
"Assume crash positions.
Toss the extras over,
About to take on water."Blood sky, red mornin’ (*whisper* All hands on deck.)
Shoulda’ seen the warnin’. (*whisper* All hands on deck.)
Poseidon’s on a mission, (*whisper* Brace yourself.)
‘Bout to turn it up to 11.Mind the sails, mind the sails!
All hands on, all hands on deck!
Women and children first!
Bail sailor, bail, bail, bail!Brace yourself, brace yourself. (Brace yourself, brace yourself.)
Brace yourself, brace yourself for 12.
All hands on, all hands on deck.
All hands on, all hands on…Blood sky, red mornin’ (All hands on, all hands on deck!)
Shoulda’ seen the warnin’. (Woulda’, coulda’, shoulda’, shoulda’!)
Poseidon’s on a mission, (Brace yourself, brace yourself!)
About to turn it up to 11. (Brace yourself, brace yourself for 12!)Captain to the seaman, (Here come the gales, mind the sails!)
Assume crash positions. (All hands on, all hands on deck!)
Toss the extras over, (Women and children, women and children first!)
about to take on water. (Bail sailor, bail, bail, bail!)Poseidon’s on a mission, (Brace yourself, brace yourself!)
About to turn it up to 11. (Brace yourself, brace yourself for 12!)
Poseidon’s on a mission, (Brace yourself, brace yourself!)
About to turn it up to 11. (Brace yourself, brace yourself for 12!)
Personally, I quite like the track and think it’s better than anything released off the last few EP/albums. The lyrics certainly are entertaining.
New Puscifer Track on Monday, Tool “Tweet”
According to quite a few sites out there, Man Overboard, the first track from the new Puscifer album Conditions of My Parole will be played on Monday morning. According to metal.com:
If you’re awake in time, tune your radio at 9 am eastern/6 am pacific to Sirius XM 36 (Alt Nation) to hear Man Overboard as well as an in-studio interview with Maynard James Keenan, Matt McJunkins and Jeff Friedl. Hopefully for those of us who sleep in the track will also be replayed later in the day.
Spin will post a streaming version of the song Monday morning. The single, Man Overboard, will be available via iTunes, Amazon.com and through other digital service providers on Tuesday, July 19.
After hearing the short preview, I’m looking forward to hearing the full track.
In other news, there was a tweet on the Tool Twitter account, presumably by Maynard, which pointed to some Japanese Heavy Metal alleging that it’s in studio footage. Think of that what you will…
Conditions of My Parole Countdown
Most have you have already seen this I imagine (I didn’t get a chance to post if before I left for work) but Puscifer have a new Conditions of My Parole website, which contains a countdown to the albums release. As I read this we have 13 weeks, 4 days, 15 hours, 20 minutes and 12 seconds left until this collection of court ordered salty dance hits is released!
Puscifer Man Overboard preview on Amazon
Tom emailed me today a link on Amazon which contains a short sample of the song Man Overboard by Puscifer, as well as the associated artwork. According to the page the single should be available on the 19th of July.
As you should all know by now, Man Overboard is the first single from the new Puscifer album Conditions of My Parole, which is due in October.

A Perfect Circle debut new song
As Billy predicted in numerous interviews, A Perfect Circle played a new track at last nights show called By And Down. Those interested in listening to it can do so via the powers of Youtube:
The show last night seemed like an interesting affair, and I won’t elaborate any further in order to not spoil it for those wanting to be surprised. On that note I’d like to remind people to keep setlist spoilers only in the appropriate show thread inside the forum.
Queens of Country update
Well known Tool haters Pitchfork have today posted an update on the forthcoming Queens of Country movie by Blood Into Wine directors Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke:
Last year, Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock re-ignited his side project Ugly Casanova to contribute songs to the documentary 180° South. A year later, he’s on his making-music-for-movies grind again. Brock will compose the score for the upcoming feature film Queens of Country, written and directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke (Blood Into Wine,The Heart Is a Drum Machine) and starring Lizzy Caplan (of the late, beloved TV series "Party Down"), Ron Livingston (Office Space), and (wait for it) Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan.
According to a press release, the plot of Queens of Country revolves around "Caplan’s character Jolene and a lost iPod, which the obsessed country music fan is convinced belongs to her soul mate. Jolene quickly finds herself in a hilarious adventure of mistaken identities, line dancing competitions, time machines and doppelgangers." So yeah, your typical lost-iPod-time-machine-country-music-rom-com flick, sounds like. And they say the film industry’s run out of ideas!
The movie, as well as Brock’s score, is slated for a 2012 release. Watch a video of Ugly Casanova performing the 180° South contribution "Here’s to Now" below while you continue to wonder whether Modest Mouse will ever make another album.
No doubt all boned up over the Modest Mouse involvement. Still it’s been a while since we’ve had an update on this movie and thanks for Jason for the tip!
Maynard talks up Puscifer Album, Tour
In a recent interview by Spin, Maynard talks about the forthcoming Puscifer album Conditions of My Parole:

"He’s got some serious chops," says Maynard. "Working with different people opens up a whole new set of questions and puzzles and solutions.
The album should be released October 18th and will include a two month tour. Of Tool, Maynard mentions that “We’re writing”.
