As Tool Depart….

As Tool leave the stage in Denver, I’d just like to point out a few things:

  • Reviews of the show are welcome (no I don’t have any yet!).
  • Setlists and other spoilers will not be posted in the main Fourtheye feed.  I may and will link to them though, so consider yourselves warned.
  • I’d encourage commenters to also consider the thoughts of others before posting Setlists on the main news feed.  I may or may not censor/move these depending on what they contain.

Sounds like it was a good, albiet relatively short set (not unusual for a festival), filled with the usual collection of Tool tracks.  As I hear it the alleged cover song wasn’t played.  I expect any real surprises will surface at their gig in Salt Lake City tomorrow.

Tour Dates Confirmed!

Blair has recently made a post on Toolband to confirm what we already know – that Tool are playing a couple of festivals this year:

These two shows have been confirmed, with more to follow. I’ve been told that there will be ToolArmy pre-sales, but haven’t received the details yet. As soon as more dates are confirmed, they will be posted, along with the pre-sale information.

  • Jul 18 2009 – Mile High Music Festival – Commerce City, CO, USA
  • Aug 01 2009 – Liberty State Park – Jersey City, NJ (Ed: All Points West Festival)

Tickets on sale: April 6

The opportunity for Toolarmy Pre-Sales is interesting.  Hopefully they can devise a pre-sale method that works better than the last tours.  No word on Lollapalooza yet it seems, but given that the lineup hasn’t been officially announced I guess it’s no surprise.

I’ve said this before in various comments, and I’ll say it again for those that don’t read them – I expect the summer “tour” may not amount to more than a handful of festival gigs.  Those hoping for a full US tour I imagine will be disappointed.  I’ll gladly be proven wrong though!

Tool joing Mile High Club

According to James and Adambot, Tool will be joining the lineup for the Mile High Festival in Denver, Colorado.  Tool will play with the likes of Widespread Panic, Ben Harper & Relentless7, G. Love & Special Sauce, Ani DiFranco, India.Arie, the Black Keys and the 18th of July.  Tool would appear to be a unusual addition to the line-up, far heavier than anyone else on the show, unless Tool are planning to do some acoustic songs, and cover some of their classic rock favorites…
