With the Blood Into Wine DVD release imminent, it makes sense that they might want to release a new trailer. This one seems to focus on Maynard and Tool fans. Well here it is:

I forgot to mention in the August update that you can listen to a new remix of The Humbling River on the Puscifer site. It’s the second track after Rocket Man. Sounds good, but personally I’m ready for some new stuff rather than just remixes…
Toolshed also had an update recently. Not only have then just turned 15 (congratulations!) but Kabir spoke with Danny who confirmed Tool are back songwriting. I’ve heard pretty much the same thing as well, so it looks like things are moving in the right direction for now!
The new Puscifer release Sound Into Blood Into Wine is now available for pre-orders on the Puscifer store. It contains a range of new Puscifer remixes, including some that will be familiar to those that caught Puscifer in Country Mode on their last tour.
The track listing is:
There was also a gentle reminder that the Blood Into Wine DVD will be released on the 7th of September.
Blahmoo spotting a new shirt in the coming soon section of the Puscifer site today, presumably while checking out the Rocket Man cover:
![]()
So does this mean there is a tour coming soon? I guess we have to wait and see…
Update: Word is this may the shirt from a previous tour, just with a misprint. Who knows! Personally I’d rather see Tool hit the studio and/or tour Australia than Puscifer doing the rounds again, but whatever floats their boat I guess…
As has been promised since 2008, Maynard and Steve Drozd from The Flaming Lips have finally released their version of Elton John’s Rocket Man. The track, which is technically Puscifer + Steve Drozd, can now be streamed on Puscifer’s website. I think it actually sounds pretty good.
Thanks to ToolDude for spotting this.
A couple of things came out from Maynard today, firstly he briefly discusses A Perfect Circle:
"I doubt if we’ll do any touring or, you know, do a full album," he said. "We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing’s right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we’ll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore."
Apparently he appeared with Ashes Divide the other night, however from what I read nothing too exciting happened.
It was also confirmed that the Blood Into Wine DVD will feature:
Should be out on September 7.
While not yet confirmed on Toolband, the 93.3 Website and AEG Live are showing that Tool are playing at Red Rocks, CO on to consecutive nights on the 28th and 29th of June (not that’s June not July).
I’m not 100% convinced by those dates yet, so wait for confirmation on Toolband, but seems extremely likely that this will go ahead at this awesome venue. Two nights in a row is interesting as well, I’m sure there will be plenty of speculation in about them perhaps filming something that night…
In a recent Puscifer email, Maynard talks about some of the ups and downs in wine growing, as well as mentioning that Puscifer should have a Live DVD out in Spring next year. There are also plans for a Wine Club called the Velvet Slippers Club which I imagine will distribute a range of Arizona wines including some of Maynards own.
And just in case you’ve forgotten, here’s a range of Blood Into Wine screening dates:
vuduchild from Toolarmy emailed me today a leaked copy of an email from Frontier Touring:

- August 14th Sydney Opera House – Sydney NSW
- August 17th Riverstage – Brisbane QLD

- August 21st Festival Centre – Adelaide SA
A range of packages will be available for these events, ranging from booked seat, to VIP areas, and even a Wine Tasting Package presented by Maynard himself. Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on the 31st of April.
Looks like that Tool album will be on hold for a little while longer, though I personally can’t wait to see Puscifer down under! Sadly Perth fans get shafted again, as frequently seems to be the way with small tours like this.
Update: Just heard from my sources that Dean Ween isn’t available and this tour won’t go ahead

Got an email today from Rick who sent me a link to this review of a recent Puscifer gig. It’s on the Brooklyn Vegan website of all places and has some pretty cool pictures! Check it out!
Patrick Slevin from The Aquarian Weekly has this week interviewed Maynard about his work with Puscifer. It’s one of the more interesting interviews I’ve read, so check it out.
Here’s a not so random quote:
The EP that was recently released was only available digitally, as well as the Lustmord dub mixes. Do you expect to continue releasing physical records?
Not yet. As this project develops and as it gains a little more momentum, we might eventually do some CDs. We’ll definitely do vinyl. But I’m going to rely on the digital sales to fund the making, because once again, we’re independent, so writing a check for a bunch of coasters seems kind of silly at this point.
I think people like to have the CD in their hand, but I don’t think they realize that to have one CD in their hand, I had to make thousands to make it worth making them, and then you’re sitting on all these coasters. I’m not going to do that until the sales of the digital stuff catches up with it. Then we’ll do another collection, maybe make it a part of the DVD. But we’re going to make vinyl, for sure. Vinyl format I think is more fun, you can put more images on the 12-inch surfaces. It’s great.
