Lespaul462 from Toolarmy shared with us the cover of the coming issue of Revolver featuring Tool. The magazine is out May 6th for those of you in the US. Who knows when it will be released in Australia, but in my experiences Borders is usually a good place to go to get imported magazines. Thanks to Nathan for the tip.
According to Adrian on Toolarmy, a special issue of Revolver will be dedicated to Tool (Blair wasn’t bullshitting!). The issue, out on the 6th of May will contain interviews, unseen pictures, sketches, video storyboards from Adam, and other stuff most likely related to Tool.
No idea on whether it talks about Tool recording again, but should be worth the read.
Henry emailed me today with a quote from a recent issue of Revolver, where Maynard gives his thoughts on working with Billy Howerdel, as well as some kind of idea when a reunion may be possible:
The real problem with running Tool and A Perfect Circle at the same time was they both operate the same way. They’re both live touring bands with a label, still working under the old contract mentality. So I thought it was time to let A Perfect Circle to go for now and let Billy explore himself. It’s tough for a guy who went from being a guitar tech [for Tool] to being in a band with pretentious, famous singer and having to live in that shadow. It was important for Billy to go and do his own thing and really explore his own sound and let people hear what he has to say and how he would do it on his own, and then we’ll get back and do some A Perfect Circle stuff.
Random Girl emailed me today to tell me that Travis Shinn’s website seems to have a few stereoscopic pictures of Tool members that didn’t make the 10,000 Days album cover. It also contains his photos from the Revolver article, as well as shots of other good (and not so good) bands.

My mate IllegalStatic from Xbox Live tells me that apparently the Japanese Noise band Melt Banana will be support Tool on shows from the 29th of May to the 23rd of June. No confirmation of this that I can see, but will let you know when I get something more official.

Blair posted on Toolband/Army that he spoke to Danny from Australia last night. The promo tour seems to be going well, and Danny is expected back in LA tomorrow. There were many interviews given, and Blair warned us that we should expect articles in Guitar World, Revolver and Modern Drummer, and no doubt there will be others.
I get the feeling that somethings going to happen soon, some information will be shared, hopefully worthwhile this time. Maybe a Tool Army chat will be announced, as well as some glimpses of what’s happening in the studio.
In the meantime, someone on Toolnavy has made the assertion, that according to his uncles drinking buddy from Revolver Magazine, that the next issue will contain some Tool news, including the announcement that the new CD will be released on the 6th of December. Is it just me or are these rumours coming from more and more dubious sources…..
