According to Milhuisen, Danny will appear in Issue 64 of DRUMscene, apparently Australia’s #1 Drum Magazine. As well as a “huge” interview, it will feature a poster.
I might head over to the newsagent in the morning and see if I can grab a copy.
Also, for those that missed it, copies of Salival and Lateralus Signed Vinyl were made available on the Toolarmy shop yesterday. Took only 20 minutes for the 7 copies of Lateralus to sell, and a little longer for Salival. Apparently there’s more to come, so keep checking!
An email found it’s way into my inbox today carrying the following pictures for a Ultimate Edition of Tool’s Salival. According to the packaging, it contains the usual Salival stuff, as well as the Vicarious, Schism and Parabola clips. Funny that it mentions “Includes over 70 minutes” and then at the bottom says “duration: Approx. 58 min.”
No word from Tool about this at all, so I imagine it’s extremely likely this is a bootleg of some kind, so buyer beware…
Andy emailed me today to let me know about a new Signed Salival listing on Ebay. The buy it now price is a whopping US$700!! To quote The Castle “Tell ‘em they’re dreamin’!”
Another one of the 33 Signed Salivals made available last year is now up for auction on Ebay. Bidding starts at US$0.01 and continues for another 10 days. Good luck for those chasing one of these rarities!
Another copy of the Signed Salival DVD has worked it’s way onto Ebay. Current bidding puts it at US$102.50, and I’d expect this to go up a reasonable amount over the next 9 days.
According to ARTISTdirect.com current Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo loves Tool:
“My four-year-old boy loves TOOL!” Trujillo told ARTISTdirect.com. “When I take him to school, we’re playing TOOL all the time, so I definitely connect with them. There’s a lot of bass in that group which is nice. They’re a great band for a bass player to listen to. So believe it or not, my son and I are going through a big TOOL phase!”
He added, “I go through these real technical phases, and I listen to bands like MESHUGGAH and MNEMIC. It’s stuff that’s a little bit complex and takes a lot of patience. Lately, I’ve been jamming a lot to our music. I play through the new songs so I can keep fresh and keep them in my head. I can act crazier on stage if I can play them with proficiency.”
