More Tool Tour Dates

Blair has posted a few more Tool tour dates on Toolband, this time in New Orleans, Houston and Oklahoma City.  Looks like my speculation that it was a West Coast tour was incorrect.  Tour page has been updated!

There is a fair gap in between these shows, and the other shows confirmed in Canada, so expect quite a few more dates to be announced!

Update: These dates have since been removed from Toolband.  Not sure why but I’ve moved them to the rumoured section for now.

Puscifer El Paso Cancelled?

I got an email from Fourtheye reader thetwitizfreak today, letting me know that he received a refund from Ticketmaster for the El Paso, TX show on the 1st of December.  According to Ticketmaster it has been cancelled for an unstated reason.  I’m able to find official confirmation of  this though, so we’ll wait and see for now.

Dallas Sold Out!

As I’m sure most of us anticipated, the Tool gig in Dallas at the Nokia Centre sold out pretty damn fast.  Nice work to those who got tickets, condolences to those that didn’t.  No doubt there will be much discussion about scalpers and the like – something I won’t go into at this stage – and we’re all aware on what negative impact they have on ticket sales to needy fans.  I expect other gigs in this tour will also sell out in similar short time.

I will say though that as in the past Fourtheye has helped by advertising unwanted tickets, and it will be the same this time round.  For Fourtheye readers with tickets who are willing to sell them at face value, I will always be happy to adertise them here free of charge.  Just use the Contact form to let me know what you have.

Tool playing Dallas?

Magnus emailed me another “radio station” confirmation today, this time for a Tool gig in Dallas, TX on the 24th 25th of July.  He also mentions that Tool are playing a smaller venue (6k) this time around, rather than the usual large venue (15-18k).  He didn’t mention the venue name, so hopefully this means something to those Texans out there.  Update: It’ll be at Nokia Theatre apparently.

Official confirmation to come soon I’d imagine.

Update: Apparently this show may actually be the 25th of July.  Once the date is officially confirmed expect another Fourtheye post!

But Wait! There’s More….

And one final interview I’ve found, this time on Artist Direct.  Questions and answers are along the same Puscifer lines as the last two posts.  More confirmation of Texan gigs too.

What’s next for Puscifer?

We’ll probably record a few things, but most likely we’ll do a few dates around the country. We’re not really looking to go tour. We’re more focused on going in and doing almost like an art installation where we do two nights in one city at a smaller, more intimate club—kind of like Club Nokia. We’re looking at places in Texas that have really cool theaters like Austin and Houston. We do these things two nights in a row, and then we come home. It’s not a tour.

Maynard has been busy!

LA Times interviews Maynard

LA Times has published the second interview with Maynard I’ve come across today.  The interview, conducted by Chris Barton talks mainly about Puscifer and the upcoming LA shows:

How many dates are you playing with this?

Oh, just these two. Then we’re going to probably do some Texas dates in June…. Rather than a band touring, this is going to be more like musical installations in places. We started off in Vegas, which made sense because it’s kind of a Cirque du Soleil town.

I don’t know if you’ve seen “Love,” but you can’t do that anywhere but Vegas. The only way you could pull something off like that is to have it stay in one spot and build it from the ground up and have it be consistent. Puscifer’s certainly not that, but that’s kind of the idea, that there’s something occurring and it has to kind of occur over several nights.

So I have to ask, any more news about Tool’s summer tour coming up?

(Silence)

Good news for Texan Puscifer fans!
