The Melvins release limited The Bride Screamed Murder vinyl

The Melvins, together with Amphetamine Reptile records have released a series of vinyl printed for the bands latest release The Bride Screamed Murder.  Here’s the blurb:

You’ve been asking for ‘em & you got it. Up for sale is the brand new Melvins vinyl LP for their "The Bride Screamed Murder" album.

The pressing on this LP was limited to just 1000 copies & are in white vinyl that splattered with red/orange/yellow streaks. To make things even more special, 10 artists were commissioned to create artwork for the letterpress print that’s affixed to the back of the sleeve with each design being limited to just 100 copies.

The three released so far all look pretty cool, and can be viewed at the Amrep website.  Here’s my personal favorite:

If I had $50 spare I’d be grabbing one, unfortunately a recent tour by a well known band has drained my account!  Stocks are limited so don’t delay!

Should be a great event for those of you that dig that kind of thing.  That’s all for now.  Tool gigs are approaching!

Danny makes Patton look short

Proving once more that exciting things happen when I go away – it appears that Danny jumps up on stage with Faith No More at their recent gig in LA.  Tool bad he didn’t get behind the drumkit:

Two of my favourite bands united – I wonder if Tool and Faith No More would ever really tour together…

In other news:

  • Blood Into Wine is on Netflix (everyone can stop sending me emails now…)
  • There’s a test pressing of The Melvins Bride Screamed Murder up on Ebay – proper vinyl to be release in January.
  • Sounds like tickets to the Tool gig in Melbourne in February are finally being sent out.  Thanks Ticketmaster!  Jakob are 100% confirmed as the support by the way (sideshows only).

Primus & The Melvins Melbourne show

Just announced on Fasterlouder is the following cool show on the 3rd of March at The Palais in Melbourne:

Primus fans the world over were thrown into fits of sporadic air-bass when the influential US rockers announced in April that after a five year hiatus they were back in business. It seemed only logical that the band would eventually be nabbed by one of our summer festivals, and Soundwave ended up being the perfect fit.

In addition to their performances at Soundwave the band has just announced that they will be playing a one-off Sidewave in Melbourne as well. Joining the trio on the night will be the Godfathers of Grunge themselves, the Melvins who released their 20th studio album The Bride Screamed Murder in July this year.

Word is that this will be the only Sidewave for these two bands, which I know will piss off at least one Sydney Fourtheye reader.

The Melvins for Soundwave 2011!

According to a leaked list of acts for the 2011 Soundwave Festival here in Australia, The Melvins will be joining the lineup. Other highlights for me include Primus, Queens Of The Stone Age, Slayer and High On Fire. If this is true, I’ll definitely be there.

The official announcement is tonight, so keep your hats on!

Update: Great news everybody: that leak has been confirmed as official!

ISIS:

The Melvins:

The Isis Tracks are from the Wavering Radiant sessions, while The Melvins tracks seem to be versions of songs from their forthcoming album The Bride Screamed Murder.
