Did you see that Ticketmaster has listed a Tool show at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah for Sunday, July 19, 2009… with tickets set to go on sale this Saturday, May 9th, 2009 at 10:00 am? Of course you did.

Triad46_2 from Toolarmy emailed me today to tell me that apparently a radio station (Edit: X96 it would seem – thanks caseycliff) is giving away tickets to a Tool show at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City on July 19th. That’s all I have for now…

In what will come as a surprise to very few, Tool have been officially confirmed as part of the Lollapalooza lineup. Other acts that I like on the bill include Janes Addiction, Beastie Boys, Lou Reed and Dan Deacon. The Festival spans several nights in August at Grant Park in Chicago. Sounds like a great gig!

Anyone besides Buzz, Junior and I see that blistering line drive of a foul ball the other night at Dodger Stadium that damn near postponed a certain tour? Easier just to buy one of the damn things. Speaking of baseball (which I love), in planning my… vacation, while in Chi-Town the second week in August (when the weather’s nice), I was hoping to see the Cubs at Wrigley Field (having never been there). A little research would have been nice. Turns out that during that time the Cubs will be on the road – in Colorado, facing our friend Glendon Rusch and the Rockies. So, no Wrigley Field. Oh well, anyone know where I can get a good dog in Chicago. One with a little attitude? I’ve got an extra twenty that I’m saving for the occasion.
Some people read this to be a metaphor in regards to some upcoming Tool dates, including the much rumoured Lollapalooza. The official lineup is announced tomorrow apparently so we’ll know soon enough.
Steve emailed me today to let me know that there are some rubmlings around Milwaukee that Tool may be playing this years Summerfest. No real evidence to back this up yet, but seems likely due to the festival confirmations so far.

As of now, there are only about a dozen shows planned, scattered throughout the United States of America. When the shows are confirmed, and the BAND’S booking agent and/or management gives me the go-ahead – and ONLY when they give me the go-ahead (for contractual obligations), I will post them.
He also goes on to discuss the possibility of a Toolarmy Pre-Sale for these shows, which he believes will be happening for most of the gigs.

These two shows have been confirmed, with more to follow. I’ve been told that there will be ToolArmy pre-sales, but haven’t received the details yet. As soon as more dates are confirmed, they will be posted, along with the pre-sale information.

The opportunity for Toolarmy Pre-Sales is interesting. Hopefully they can devise a pre-sale method that works better than the last tours. No word on Lollapalooza yet it seems, but given that the lineup hasn’t been officially announced I guess it’s no surprise.
I’ve said this before in various comments, and I’ll say it again for those that don’t read them – I expect the summer “tour” may not amount to more than a handful of festival gigs. Those hoping for a full US tour I imagine will be disappointed. I’ll gladly be proven wrong though!
