More Promo Material, US Tour?

Orange.juice on Toolnavy posted this sticker today, which would appear to be a German promo for 10,000 Days, and in particular the listening parties.

Some rumours seem to be coming out regarding the May US tour.  Plenty of towns have been suggested, including Seattle, Toronto, Denver, LA, Detroit, Oakland and Texas.  Blair mentioned that we may get an announcement on the 17th of April, and it’s probably safe to say there will be a few East Coast shows as well.

Sounds like the shows will be in some intimate venues rather than arenas, so for those of you lucky enough to live in those towns, and able to get tickets, don’t miss out!

Tool Promo Site, More US Tour Date Rumours, Kabir Playing Games

Stinkfist on Toolarmy posted a link to this Tool 10,000 Days promo website, courtesy of Sony.  Only 4 days to go until Vicarious:

underbody, also of Toolarmy posts that Tool may be playing Orphen Theatre in Boston on the 22nd of May.  Hopefully on the 17th of April Blair will give us the full list.

Also, Kabir, the man behind TDN says that something is going down later today, apparently at around 11:30pm Pacific time, why by my watch is around 5-6 hours away.  No idea what, but logic would suggest it’s something to do with Vicarious.

Anyway, as luck would have it, I’m heading out camping for a few days this Easter, and so since it woul appear shit will be hitting the fan this weekend, I’m promoting one of our readers, Toolnavy’s Foamy in charge.  Hopefully he’ll give us all the good stuff over the weekend.

Tour Dates Confirmed and Changed

Blair on Toolband/Army has confirmed that Tool will be playing in Japan on the 12th of August in Osaka and the 13th of August in Tokyo. I think the Osaka date is part of the Summersonic Festival, but I’m not sure if the Tokyo show is also part of this, or a standalone Tool show. Hopefully Australian dates are coming soon…..

Blair also confirmed that the German show in Berlin has been moved from the Columbiahalle to the Arena Treptow. Check Tool’s tour page for official details.

Finally, Toolbelt on Toolnavy tells us that Tool are booked to play three nights in LA on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September. No official confirmation on this yet, but it’s safe to say Tool will most likely be doing an extensive US tour around that time anyway.

Promo Poster, Euro Dates

orange.juice on Toolnavy posted today that he found this image on a German promoters(?) website:

Live Promo Poster?

Stating the bleeding obvious, it’s pretty much just an extended version of the existing 10,000 Days cover. No confirmation though whether this is official or when it’s just a fan-made rendering based on Alex Grey’s artpiece.
He also noted that one of the German shows has changed to a bigger venue. If you’re a German Tool fan, make sure you check you show hasn’t changed.

There’s also been some talk of a French show being changed as well. Looks like the Lyon show has been cancelled and moved to Grenoble. Check this website for details.

Tool in Phoeniz AZ

ccornell from Toolarmy, took some time of from recording Audioslave’s new CD today, to tell us that he heard on the radio that Tool will be playing in Phoenix, Arizona sometime in May.  Details are a bit sketchy on date and location, so don’t go booking your flights just yet.

Looks like you Americans will be getting a few shows before the lads head off to Europe….

US Tour

sobertoolfan9 on Toolarmy found this snippet on Launch:

Sources have told Launch that TOOL is booking two concert dates in New York City for late May, with the dates and exact venue yet to be announced. The group is also rumored to be hitting several other cities that same month, including Seattle and Oakland. These shows will follow TOOL’s April 30 headlining performance at the Coachella festival in Indio, California, which will be the band’s first live appearance in the U.S. since 2002.

In other news, it would seem that Tool have mastered the art of teleportation and are actually all over the world allowing select fans to hear 10,000 Days.  Wow!

Just a quick note, Fourtheye won’t be resorting to a predictable April Fools Joke this year, so expect everything you read here today to be 100% true!  Good Luck!

Tool at Coachella

Just a quickie….

Blair also writes that he spoke to Danny regarding the Coachella gig, and the Tool will be play at least some of the new CD there. Kinda gives me the impression that it’ll be more of the old show + a couple of new songs, rather than the “new” Tool experience, if indeed there is such a thing.

Oh and there was some crap about the Schism and Parabola Tool videos being shown at obscure Californian movie festivals. Eureka!

Alex Grey Comments, Butcher/Volto/Tool Live

In the recent CoSM Newsletter, it briefly talks about the 10,000 Days artwork. Nothing particularly new though:

Many fans have inquired regarding the album art TOOL has released on Amazon for pre-sale of the album. The cover is an adaptation of Alex Grey’s painting, Net of Being.

Blair on Toolband/Army posts today that Butcher played recently with some disturbing new artwork. He also mentions that Volto are playing in the near future, and that you should catch them now, as they may not be playing again for a while. They’re playing the Knitting Factory on March the 31st and then the La Ve Lee in April sometime. Danny will be too cought up in the machine called Tool to play more shows, so if you want to see them, see them now!

Speaking of Tool, they’re apparently getting ready for Coachella on April 30, and according to Blair “any other shows the might decide to do”…..
