Puscifer release video for The Arsonist

Yesterdays Instagram post was a hint towards a new Puscifer video it seems, this time an animated feature with Joe Rogan, Ronda Rousey and Trumpzilla accompanying The Arsonist – in my opinion one of the better tracks from Money Shot.  It’s pretty good!  Watch it below:

Can Büyükberber shares his visuals from the recent Tool tour

In a short but interesting article on The Creators Project, it is revealed that digital artist Can Büyükberber created a bunch of visuals for Tool’s most recent tour, including the new track Descending.  According to the article:

Late last year, Büyükberber put together ten individual video loops for band’s live sets. In his description, Büyükberber claims the cosmic animated artworks developed through his work in architectural projection mapping performances. Through this work, he began experimenting with “morphogenesis and higher dimensional geometries,” which, in turn, gave life to his design patterns. The animations were used for the first time in 2015 at a show in Arizona, and are now being used in the band’s 2016 US tour.

There is a video which accompanies the article as well:

Though if you prefer, ToolArchive has created a version with a live recording of Descending synced to it.

The Pot video coming soon…

Ganjalf contacted me today and told me that according to the recent Guitar World interview:

Jones: We’re working on “The Pot,” but i’ve been really lazy lately. The setup for it is a lot more epic, so it’s actually good that we’ve been able to have more time. It’s going to be all stop-motion and in 3D. We’re doing that so we can hopefully have it show in the theater.

Not sure how he actually got this info, since the magazine hasn’t been released yet.  Will confirm this once I am able to read a copy of the interview myself.

Melvins Live at Amoeba Records

Joel emailed me to let me know that the live performance by The Melvins recorded at Amoeba Records in Hollywood is now up on their site.  It includes a pretty good interview with the four of them (it’s the lineup featuring Big Business) and several live tracks, and in what seem to be reasonably high definition.  Enjoy!

MJK on New Tool Video and Album

Brian emailed me this quote today, apparently taken from a new interview with Maynard in Revolver:

Adam is working on a new video at the moment. I can’t say for what song. When that winds down, we’re gonna try to get back in the writing space. When we’ve actually picked an engineer you’ll have an idea that there might be a record coming someday.

Any speculation on what video is forthcoming?  I’ve heard that The Pot is the likely candidate, but it would be cool so see something for one of their longer songs – perhaps Lost Keys/Rosentta Stoned?

Maynard on WineLibrary.tv

I’ve only watched the first few minutes of this video (and none of part 2) on Wine Library TV, but it would appear to have an extensive interview with Maynard and Eric in regards to their wine making exploits.  Thanks to Justin for the tip!

Momma Sed video

I read this in Maynard‘s Myspace post the other day, but for some reason thought nothing of it.  Thanks to Jake for pointing out to me that the Momma Sed video is now streaming on Myspace.  It seems to be a full version of the Sunglasses ad that we saw a month or so ago.

More Guitar Hero videos

Justin mailed me links to a couple of videos from the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour release. They feature two players in a drum-off to the Tool songs Parabola and Vicarious. Enjoy!

Snippets

A couple of things have passed my desk today.

Firstly there are a couple of new articles up on Toolband, on talking about Blair and Danny‘s trip to Maynard‘s vineyard.  Apparently this will be the covered in more detail in the next newsletter.  Blair also tells the tale of Danny losing $400 in a ATM recently after being asked for an autograph.  Oh the stories we hear when there is no real Tool news!

Secondly SOTRAB tells me that Danny‘s website will be updated soon, and mentions that “it is all in 3d and is absolutely amazing…. the fans are going to love it!”.  No idea this will happen but apparently soon….

Finally a new Notes from the Crew post on Toolarmy has been made, this time referring to work being done, snow thawing in May in Vermont and other stuff such as “Junior and I did a lot of hard, brutal work this summer for a band that for matters related to confidentiality contracts will go un-named at this time.”  What this all means I don’t know, but some people have been speculating that some kind of Tool video is being made, possibly for Rosetta Stoned. All will be revealed in time I guess…

Maynard records with Jubilee

Oldesch on Toolarmy (vaguely) posted a video from the Jubilee‘s Myspace featuring Maynard laying down some vocals for the track I don’t have an excuse, I just need a little help.  Jubilee are a rock band from the US, and the track also features some drum programming by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails.
