Unseen Tool Documentary

Magnus posted in the Fourtheye forum a list of five Youtube videos from a previously unreleased (at least I haven’t seen it!) documentary with Danny Carey.  Danny talks about a range of topics from his influences, to gear and touring.  There’s also plenty of soundcheck footage included as well some cool live footage.  Here’s part 1:

There’s also a similar video (but shorter) with Adam Jones:

Tool on Video Hits, A Perfect Circle on Kimmel

Stumbled across a tweet today from the Big Day Out feed, which mentioned the following:

VIDEO HITS are doing a 1/2 hour TOOL special this Sat night at 1.20am (technically 1.20am Sunday 31st Oct) – tune in!! #VideoHitsTV #Tool

Video Hits is an Australian music show, which mainly features Top 40 type music, so will be interesting to see what actually appears.  I guess it’ll just be their videos, but I’ll set up the recorder anyway.

A Perfect Circle made their first live appearance on many years on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight, playing Weak & Powerless for the show, and also Judith and Passive for the lucky members of the audience:

Sounds pretty good to me.  What are your opinions of the performance?

A Perfect Circle rehearsal clip

Maynard has posted a short video on Youtube of a very recent A Perfect Circle practise session.  The band appear to be playing Magdalena, and unless I’m mistake there sounds like a short snippet of violins being played.  I wonder if that’s a sample or not…

Maynard performs Queen

Maynard took part in the Activision E3 event last night, singing a version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with Billy Howerdel on guitar.  This appears to be in aid of the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock game out in September 2010.  Here’s a video:

According to Wikipedia, The Outsider by A Perfect Circle will be one of the playable tracks.

Update: Here’s a little more info from Rolling Stone:

For Keenan, performing "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Monday was an unexpected chance to revisit a big rock song from his own adolescence. Dressed in a black suit and red tie, he approximated the soaring operatics of Freddie Mercury against the strings and woodwinds of the L.A. Philharmonic, as animated characters from Guitar Hero sang along.

His A Perfect Circle collaborator Billy Howerdel filled in for guitarist Brian May (who was originally set to perform), rising from the floor with an old Vox amp and Gibson Les Paul to ignite the original glam riffs, adding touches of modern guitar texture. As the song faded out, Keenan hugged the guitarist, and then grabbed his ass as they descended into the stage.

M.T.void Youtube Channel

M.T.void, the new band involving Justin have just created a Youtube channel, which contains a video from the mastering sessions with Bob Ludwig.  M.T.void can also be found on most of your social media networks, so those keen to keep up with these guys should do a little searching around.

Personally, I think it sounds quite promising, certainly the Polish vocals are quite unique to my ears.
