Puscifer Email Update

A Puscifer email update went out overnight, and posts a message about the possibility of a Puscifer tour that we’re already familiar with:

As promised, we’ve been reading through the many emails that came in following our first newsletter and the top question was “Will Puscifer tour and when?”  Puscifer will tour SOMEDAY. However, our sense of the extravagant and our commitment to quality and a unique experience prevents us from just hopping in a van and regurgitating the cd. We’re hard at work formulating ideas that will include both music, performance, art and film.  Until we can adequately execute this complete interactive experience, it would be unfair for us to commit to any timeframe. But rest assured, as soon as WE know, YOU will know.

Should be interesting.  Unfortunately, I kinda expect that this tour would be a US only one.  If it ever happens of course.

The email also suggested that Puscifer questions may be directed to that address (pusciferlist@gmail.com) , and possibly answered in the future.

Edit: Actually, the most important part of the email was that Maynard will be on Mania TV tonight, starting at 6pm Eastern US time.  Here’s a preview.  Do you think Maynard only allows interviews with hot chicks?

“Please be advised…

that A Perfect Circle and Tool are still alive and well”

Or so I read in an email from the Puscifer Mailing list:

Hello, APC fans.

As many of you may have heard, Billy and I are engaged in our own little projects for the moment.

His is called Ashes Divide and mine is called Puscifer.

Puscifer is perfect for those of you who suffer from ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Accessory Purchases, Vinyl fetishes, Turrets and/or An Irreverent Sense of Humor. You will need to bring one, severeal, or all of these disorders if you seek to embrace/understand Puscifer.

We’ve included a number of websites for you to browse so you can determine if this is in fact your flavor.

If not, no harm done (you can remove yourself at the bottom of this e-mail).

We’ll hopefully get along just fine without you, although we’d of course prefer to have you along to join us for the giggles.

Please be advised that A Perfect Circle and Tool are still alive and well.

This is simply MORE.

Because as you know, MORE IS BETTER. ALWAYS. God bless America.

Peace,

M J Keenan

Personally I hope Tool is more alive than APC, though as long as it’s not another eMotive, I’d welcome a new APC album.

Aloke OK, Volto! coming soon

According to a recent post by Blair on Toolband/Army, Aloke is recovering well from his heart surgery in his home town of Shantiniketan, India. Good news…

Also, Volto! will be playing at the Knitting Factory in LA on March 15. Make sure you grab a ticket!  prepare yourself, here’s a cool drum solo courtesy of rnp2003 from Toolarmy.

Finally, for those that missed it, there’s a new NIN album out today.

Maynard on Suicide Girls

Badkittygothgirl from Toolarmy posted a like to a video interview done by Erin from the Suicide Girls where Maynard talks about the creative process behind Puscifer. Here’s the article:

“Enigmatic is a misnomer. Most likely a byproduct of my absence in the press. An assumption arrived at due to the lack of available information, accurate or otherwise. I don’t do that many interviews. General because of my private life and my classified activities, but mostly because I’m not very good at them. The conversation in my head never matches the conversation that ends up in print.” — Maynard James Keenan

Meet Maynard James Keenan — musician, winemaker, connoisseur, alchemist, undercover CIA operative, and (as most of you might know him) frontman for Tool, A Perfect Circle and, most recently, Puscifer. Keenan describes Puscifer as, “The space where my Id, Ego and Anima come together to exchange cookie recipes.” Puscifer is more than just a band; for Keenan it’s a multifaceted, multimedia, multi-artist, multi-personality project that takes shape in a variety of media such as film, music, digital video, clothing, feminine hygiene products, coffee, pet supplies, websites, blogs… you name it.

The week before Puscifer’s full-length debut V is for Vagina hit stores on October 30, Keenan invited SuicideGirls down to his winery in Arizona (Caduceus Cellars/Merkin Vineyards) to chat about music and where his interest in alchemy began. Oh yeah, and he told us to bring a video camera.

Check out the following SGTV exclusive, shot on Flip Video, as we step into Keenan’s world for an afternoon
