Tool 2012 USA Tour

The Tool Winter 2012 Tool tour is currently on sale, mainly via Ticketmaster, but check with your local venue.  According to a range of sources on the net, the remaining shows in Florida, Virginia and North Carolina should all go on sale on the 7th of January.

Dates confirmed so far:

  • 14th Jan, Reno Events Center, Reno, NV
  • 15th Jan, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, NV
  • 17th Jan, Tuscon Arena, Tucson AZ
  • 18th Jan, Tingley Coliseum, Albuquerque NM
  • 20th Jan, Verizon Arena, Dallas, TX
  • 21st Jan, Verizon Arena, Dallas, TX
  • 24th Jan, Huntington Center, Toledo, OH
  • 25th Jan, Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario
  • 26th Jan, John Labatt Centre, London, Ontario
  • 28th Jan, TD Garden, Boston, MA
  • 29th Jan, Susquehanna Bank Center, Camden, NJ
  • 31st Jan, Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT
  • 1st Feb, Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ
  • 3rd Feb, Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA
  • 4th Feb, Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte, NC
  • 6th Feb, Bank Atlantic Center, Ft Lauderdale, FL
  • 7th Feb, UCF Arena, Orlando, FL
  • 8th Feb, Gwinnet Arena, Duluth, GA

I think it’s unlikely that any more date will be added to the tour!  Sources tell me not to expect any more shows in the “West”.  However Coachella rumours persist and may explain the lack of California shows.

Intronaut are mentioned as the support act for the Toronto gig, and they’re expected to support for the first half of the tour.  Yob have mentioned that they are supporting for the second half starting in Boston.

It’s a shame you are still labouring under the delusions of the grandiose ideas of Tool “playing by their own rules”
WTF does that even mean? Anything could be “playing under our own rules”, so vague.
Face it, Maynard would be rather be wearing a gigantic blonde wig and a suit and doing his cuntry thang with Puscifer, unfortunately those shows don’t bring in neaaaaaaaaaaarly the coin that a sold out arena Tool show does. And I’m sure some little part of him likes the ego boost of playing in front of 17,000 dipshits a night. Especially when they are paying $100 a pop.
So he’s doing this tour to build up a little nestegg, writing and recording music doesn’t generate a great deal of money, also Adam, Justin and Danny are waiting really politiely for him to actually come and record an album with them again. He’s been putting off this thing for so long he decided to go on a few tours with his other, other band and play their 8 year old COVER album on tour. Talk about delaying this shit. Either way, Maynard is the village whore, and the 3 lads are just waiting for her to come back around for another roll in the hay.

Brafuckingvo. Finally…someone actually gets it. Great post. Agree completely.

Sure you do. It’s from you. Nice try creating another user to agree with you Moggy.
Although that last part where you “disagreed” was a nice touch… I’ll grant you that.

Still a dumb ass. Different IP addresses. Go check your logs. Oh wait, you don’t know how to do that do you? Once a dumb ass, always a dumb ass. How in the hell did someone with absolutely no background in IT (photoshopping doesn’t count boss) become a moderator? Boggles the mind.

It’s amazing that people think Tool is just Maynard and that Maynard writes all the vocal and instrumental sections to Tool’s music. It’s almost like those guys Justin, Adam and Danny kick back until Maynard is done, play Maynard’s parts in a few days then release an album. I think Maynard should just commander Tool and go solo but hire some off the street musicians for touring.

Wow the bickering on here has got really un fun. What happened to the happiness surrounding a tour! Sure we all want an album, but its not ready, so their obviously getting together to work on it, and touring at the same time, best of both worlds if you ask me. Im jacked!

  5. Dude

    @ Margaret – You’re such a pompous ass. No matter what IP you’re using…

By the way, how was traffic on the 97 today? Verizon sucks, you should look for a different ISP.

    Seriously.

Guys thinks I’m an alias, and in reality I was posting on a Tool message board when he was probably in grade 4 and listening to Blind 182.

  9. Lazy

You guys should move it to the Bickering Thread
And to all the haters, watch the Tool Documentary where David Botrill explains TOOL’s writing process…the other band mates besides maynard do alot in their spare time besides write music for TOOL
also…maynard being on tour with puscifer/apc doesnt hold back the release of a TOOL record….i mean APC was on tour for 2000 – 2001 and Lateralus was still written and released…adam justin and danny would send mjk the music (as does billy howerdel of APC) and then mjk just throws vocals on it from his tour bus…sounds like it works cuz if it didnt we wouldnt have gotten such a remarkable album such as Lateralus to begin with
so shut the hell up all you haters
    Back on topic…
Man January 31st can’t come soon enough! I can’t wait to see my favorite band again live!

  10. Lazy

Part 2 has been removed, part 3 begins with david botrill explaining the differences in writing/recording between TOOL and King Crimson, i forget specifically which part David Explains how Danny Justin and Adam record and send it to Maynard and how Adam Justin and Danny have alot of projects they work on besides TOOL but regardless this documentary is a good watch

Because I dont want your troll ass complaining during the entire set two rows behind me because they didnt play the song you have always wanted to hear, or any new material, etc. Get it out. get trolly as fuck. I mean seriously, let kittan and hellboy see the entirety of your trolly wrath, just as long as you leave your troll at the admissions gate and enjoy the show, and keep your mouth shut, and seriously, dont sing along. i don’t want to hear your drunk ass trying to sing like Maynard. Especially if you are on here complaining about his voice. Trust me, you cant sing, so shut up an enjoy the show. Trolls.” – Sincerely, Troller McTrollyson.

The Ye Olde Mill Dark Ride is seriously amazing. Wow. It looks like Splash Mountain would on a bad acid trip. Nightmare inducing.

  14. Lazy

I love Splash Mountain! One of my favorite rides of all time! ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH ALL FUCKEN DAY!!!
Ye Old Mill used to be alot scarier but an 8 year old kid who was riding the ride by himself got so scared he jumped out of his boat and then got caught in the conveyor belt beneath the water and died. Playland then changed the ride to be less frightening and made a rule where no passenger can ride alone. So fucken lame.

Sweet. Have fun at Mohegan. I am sitting pretty at IZOD. Stoked.

  16. Lazy

where are you sitting at the IZOD? I mean id like to go to all the shows in the NY/CT/NJ area but I just dont have the $ this time around, plus I despise driving to jersey from CT especially b/c I hate the GW Bridge. Whats it like $20 bucks to cross the bridge? Yikes.

Also it seems every 5 miles there is some sort of Toll in Jersey. Not to mention the god damn smell.

And what a fine “village whore” Maynard has turned out to be. The noise that comes out of that purty, little mouth makes me squirt buckets and buckets. I don’t mind paying top dollar for that kind of pleasure. Shit, this is a motherfucking top-shelf cum catcher in a diamond-encrusted G-string we’re talking about, here. Not some bloated, two-bit, alley dwelling skank like Vince Neil.

Uhh im confused. Are you a chick that squirts or a male cum catcher? Or are you saying Maynard is the cum catcher?

    No, in part.

    No.

No. That was sarcasm. Also, hyperbole.

Could it be – as the last newsletter suggests – they are using this mini tour as a chance for all four of them to get together in the same room, rehearse the new material and…..gulp!….actually work on lyrics?!?!

If this is the case, then a 2012 release date is possible, if not, likely.

Possible yes, in the sense that everything is possible with the help of the prophet Mohamed peace be upon his name.
But not likely, in the sense that it’s not going to happen before summer 2013.

I don’t know where to post tickets so don’t get too mad if this is the wrong place.
I had neck surgery two days ago and will not be able to make the two shows I bought tickets for.
I have two tickets for both the Tuscon and Las Vegas shows. Like a true Tool fan should do I feel I am selling them for exactly what I paid for them so if you are interested send me an email at jasunhand43@yahoo.com
    Las Vegas Sec 110, Row B, Seats 11 and 12 = $180
Tuscon General admission FLOOR seating! = $145
    Thanks ~

I called the TD Garden today in Boston, and asked about the seating arrangement. Even though there are seating numbers and sections for the floor section, it is all open! No seats! General admission! I was going to sell my tickets and buy a better section because the person I am going with is short, but  not anymore!

P.s. I mean I’m not going to buy new tickets. I didn’t mean the person I am going with grew. Also, I’d urge anyone planning on buying floor tickets to other shows to call the venue and ask if it is all open, or are the seats on the ticket your actual seats.

Seems to be awfully quiet before this tour. The last tour, dates came earlier, and we had short videos of the band practicing. Still, im pretty excited, tour starts in ten days, ill be seeing them in 20! Would love if they were tweaking the set list!

  29. newb

Maynard just tweeted saying new Puscifer Tourdates will soon be announced. I’m almost wondering if he even knows Tool are touring soon.

You definitely don’t have to take the GWB from CT… you can take the Tappan Zee. Its significantly cheaper and way less traffic.
Also..get an EZpass. If you operate a car in 2011 there is literally no reason NOT to own an ezpass.

It’s almost scary how quiet it has been about this tour.

Agreed. Hopefully its for some good reason, such as they are busy changing the set list a bit, or working hard on the new album! Im pumped. Its going to be a fun night for sure one way or another. Nothing better than a road trip with friens, a tool show, and then partying all night in a hotel.

  32. newb

I hope you (and everyone else that are going to see them) have a very nice time and I also hope what you say is true; that it’s for a good reason.
