The Tool Winter 2012 Tool tour is currently on sale, mainly via Ticketmaster, but check with your local venue. According to a range of sources on the net, the remaining shows in Florida, Virginia and North Carolina should all go on sale on the 7th of January.

- 20th Jan, Verizon Arena, Dallas, TX
- 21st Jan, Verizon Arena, Dallas, TX
- 24th Jan, Huntington Center, Toledo, OH
- 25th Jan, Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario
- 26th Jan, John Labatt Centre, London, Ontario
- 28th Jan, TD Garden, Boston, MA

- 6th Feb, Bank Atlantic Center, Ft Lauderdale, FL

I think it’s unlikely that any more date will be added to the tour! Sources tell me not to expect any more shows in the “West”. However Coachella rumours persist and may explain the lack of California shows.
Intronaut are mentioned as the support act for the Toronto gig, and they’re expected to support for the first half of the tour. Yob have mentioned that they are supporting for the second half starting in Boston.

WORST article on Tool ever:
Tool lets it happen Saturday in Reno

When it comes to defining metal, musical experts rarely agree.
The genres flow into each other. Did Tool, for instance, bring “underground metal” into art rock, taking away pretention, or did they bring art rock into “post-thrash metal,” adding a little pretension?
Such questions are for those who love endless debate, using terms like “faux-bohemian preoccupations” and “relentlessly bleak visions of grindcore.”
The fans of Tool mostly don’t care about such distinctions and haven’t since they began their love of the band around the time Tool popped up in the 1993 Lollapalooza tour, a gig that helped sell their debut album “Mer de Noms.”
The post-Nirvana period was perfect for them, and they set off on a tour of their own.
It was amazing, even for the time and genre, how fast break-up rumors began. But Tool issued “Salival” and then their third album, 2001′s “Lateralus,” which debuted at the top Billboard spot.
Then, sure enough, the break-up happened. Tool was nonexistent until a return in 2006 with “10,000 Days.”
This Saturday, anybody feeling a little strangled angst, a little oppression or even just a need for some ranting lyrics, accompanied by extended instrumental blasts, can get a fix at the Reno Events Center when Tool returns after a long absence.
It is a tribute to their staying power that Tool still can be expected to fill around 11,000 seats. That they can fill the arena with sound is not even in doubt. Even the heartiest will be well advised to bring earplugs. (8 p.m.; $45.50, $69.50; 888-288-1833, Ticketmaster, or downtownreno.com).

Wow, what a hack job. Reading that summation of T00Ls career was like masturbating with a cheese grater-somewhat amusing but oh so painful.
Pax!
Dude
Pathetic “article”. Just goes to show any imbecile can have a column on the internet. Try a different career Panty Shileds.
@ Collectivejudas29 – Ouch…. 8`) Nice to have you back. Pax!

So no Cali dates expected to be added other than “possibly” Coachella. Thanks a fucking lot…make your cali fans have to go out to the desert and deal with festival douche bags..really appreciate that TOOL.
I’m in Riverside, and we’d love to trade our Puscifer date for a TOOL one..I took a vote, TOOL came out on top. Doesn’t even have to be Riverside, Nokia or Staples will do..anything…just please spare us the festival crowds.
I’m gonna piss on your grapes Maynard.
(and I’m not talking about the ones growing in your vineyards.)
Slave I
Well Coachella has just been announced and there’s no Tool on it.
Maynerd
Welcome back CJ. Do try to avoid cheese graters brother you just gave everyone a scare im sure BGKK doesn’t need another :p
As for the hint’s posted on toolband, still not sure how Maynard could handle singing spoiler even with effects. Maybe a one off sort of deal towards the end of the tour. Same with spoiler, no way Maynard can sing that every night.
spoiler I could see happening. Maynard is the only member who has really lost a step.
Anyone catch that Danny was surfing with Shaun White? Makes sense. The best usually hang around the best. One of the greatest action sports athletes of all time chilling with one of the greatest drummers of all time.
TiTmaster
I agree that we could see spoiler because then Maynard could do what he likes doing best when performing with Tool which is not much.
Queen of the Pussies
Hey guys, let’s try to keep any mention of possible spoilers on the spoilers thread. Thank you.
Maynerd
^ +9 ya stuck the landing on that one. well said. spoiler seems goofy to me to preform as an individual song as spoiler is one long song.

Vodsure Aficionado
Well, I LOVE you when you are ANGRY !!!!
So I hope they play Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler…
And finish with SPOILER !!!!!!
;-}~

^ +1….hahahaha

A bunch of off-topic posts have been removed. Thanks for playing…
Dude
I read them. No big loss.
newb
cool..so there’s still a chance there’ll be an arena show added for cali later.
Or TOOL won’t be coming to Cali for any shows, in which case I’ll be home licking the cats butt while you all enjoy your shows.
Maybe elp5000 will be a dear and buy me a signed event poster..possibly with original art added by Adam out of pitty.
it feels better to give than recieve elp.
Slave I
I’d say there’s now no chance of California shows.
Dude
Good, I like it when somebody is sure about something like that. Makes it much more possible, and I am still hoping for another opportunity…
Slave I
Rynne has mentioned on her radio show of late that there won’t be any Cali shows, and a lack of a Coachella announcement pretty much ruled a line through the idea I think.

The collective tool fanbase is calling all recorders with viable equipment to please record any and every show possible on this 2012 Tool tour. Oh and please record Intronaut as well.
newb
Id second that. Quality video would be nice, HD. I feel like only the half ass fans record, and only bother getting a small section of Lateralus EVERY damn time. It drives me nuts how there is literally no good video of songs like right in two, aaahhhh…
Queen of the Pussies
Whoever recorded the Nawlins and St. Charles shows last year did a stellar job!
newb
Agreed. those were 2010 shows i believe. The New Orleans was great. Granted, its got to be hard to record an entire show flawlessly, especially when you want to watch in person as well, but had that person recorded the entire show the way they recorded third eye the first song it would have been amazing. Yes, im a critic i know. That said, i enjoyed the shit out of it, and thanks to whoever.
stitchface
And whoever recorded those 2 July shows at Nokia in 2010 needs to release those fuckers to the public.
newb
Also Red Rocks would be nice! Seen a guy at night 2 and still nothing…
newb
The San Fran 2010 recording was phenomenal as well. One of my favorite boots of all time. Hope the taper makes it to some of the shows this tour.
newb
Links would be nice! There is a lot to choose from and guess what you are talking about.
newb
Whoever did Red Rocks night one in 2010 did a good job…don’t see why he would go through all of that trouble and not get night 2???? Also, loved the San Fran recording in 2007 when Maynard does Vicarious without the megaphone! Sounds sick!
Queen of the Pussies
Wow…it feels like just yesterday. hahaha
newb
The wait is almost over. The best part is when the lights go out and the show starts.

Anyone know where I can find this?

So would it be considered a spoiler for someone to just let us know whether or not it’s different from last go around? I don’t really want to know the setlist, but if it’s going to be the same thing I’d like to be prepared. I guess I’ll just solicit a PM from someone.

I’ve had several requests for something like this, so I may attempt to write a spoiler free summary once I know the setlist and have spoken to a few people.
newb
Thanks. I know this gets so far down the rabbit hole of weird geekery/spoilerphobe type stuff.
newb
Yes, please. Thats what im looking for as well. Although its killing me not to look. Right now i hope i make it.

Here was my spoiler free summary:
Ok here goes, 11 songs were played, 3 of which haven’t been played in some time, certainly not on anything post-10k Days. I doubt anyone here would be disappointed with the tracks chosen tonight.
aka Francis Brie
I have SO got to stay out of jail before this tour ends
Board NotSee
^YES !!!
Dude
I didn’t really mention Intronaut in my various piece-meal reviews today. I dug them quite a bit more live than any of the recorded material or YouTubery I checked out. I’m sure they will gather some new fans from this little leg they’re opening. I would go see them again, especially to check out a longer set. They can definitely play, and are inventive composers as well.
i wish I could check Yob out as well, and I’m looking forward to hearing some reviews.

I had a dream last night that I forgot my tickets! No one forget their tickets!!
Hey! Hey! Hey!
I have that heart attack in real life all the time. I have to put my tickets in plain view when I’m driving to Dallas/OKC or I’ll freak out every 30 minutes or so.
newb
^^ Doug and I have forgotten our tickets at least once!
Hey! Hey! Hey!
WHAT!? Which venue? At least you guys live semi-close. I would miss the whole show!

Nothing I’d consider a spoiler.

If USA = Canada
Then New Zealand = Australia
(You called it Tool 2012 USA Tour, but I managed to catch them here in Canada.)
