Blair has written on Toolband/Army that there will be a Spring 2006 Tool release, though it won’t be March. Apparently they’re still working on the final mixing, segues, etc.
For those mathematically inclined Blair has left a clue as to how much longer the mixing process has left until completion. Feel free to post your results below…
Well. I would say around May, honestly. Given that clip in “From Dusk” was probably no more than :45 seconds.
Multiply it by 3,000. Gives you 1350. Divide that by 72 (hrs. per week) and you get 18.75. Divide that by 4 (for weeks in a month) and you’re at 4.6 months. *sigh*
I refuse to use my time machine on this. I’m just gonna wait. May 22 is my prediction….and birfday.
somethings not right there……say she dances for 1 minute. Therefore she dances 60 times an hour, times 12 hours per day is 720 times a day, times 6 days per week is 4320. If Blair says she will dance 3000 times before mixing will done, and she dances for a minute each, then there is less than a week of mixing to go? What have i missed here??
Maybe the joke is that it’s actually really, really close to being done and will be out -next month-. Eh? Ehhh???

People are forgetting that this is only an estimated time for how long it will take to finish mixing or mastering that album or whatever it is they’re doing. This isn’t anything to do with the release date.
hmm… if the album was to be finished in a month we would probably be able to hear the single on the radio or even see the video itself. imo probably the video will be released first (as it was done in case of lateralus) and since there was not a single word about upcoming video i presume it is in an early stage of development. or maybe there will be no video(s)? heh…April/May is still the most reasonable date i think

The Schism video was released long after the song actually came out. If I remember correctly the mp3 could be downloaded about a month before Lateralus came out, and the video for it came out well after Lateralus’ release. Well, a couple of months anyway.
well…in Poland thing are always different. here lateralus (I mean the cd) was the last one to come. first I heard Schism on a radio, then I saw it on german Tv and then I was able to buy CD 😀
Guys…if the Salma **loop** is only 45 secs – 60 secs. that means these guys will be done recording/mixing in 4.1 days. The little riddle is meant to confuse us beligerent f*ckers! May is my guess though. They seem to like that month for releases. October is another one of their favorites.
