Vicarious April 17

Billboard are reporting that Vicarious will be the first single from 10,000 Days and will be played on US Radio stations on the 17th of April:

Rock act Tool has revealed the track list for its next studio album, “10,000 Days.” As previously reported, the set is due May 2 via Volcano. Billboard.com has learned that first single/album opener “Vicarious,” which stretches past the seven-minute mark, is due to arrive April 17 at U.S. rock radio outlets.

True to form, the 11-track “10,000 Days” sports a number of epic tunes, particularly “Rosetta Stoned” and “10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2),” both of which clock in at 11:14. Near the end of the disc are the substantially lengthy “Intension” (7:21) and “Right in Two” (8:56).

Thanks to Beachy324 for Toolarmy for the tip on that one.

I wonder how long it will take after the 17th to hear ‘Vicarious’ on OZ radio? Do you think the video is ready? If so it is most certain to be played on either Rage or maybe [V].

Still can’t believe that all the waiting is nearly over!!!!

I wonder if the track length with adversely effect the amount of airplay it gets. We all know how much radio despises lengthy tracks.

Channel V and MTV will feature it once released at least in the “heavy” music shows which are Monday nights on MTV “Headbangers Ball” and I cant quite remember when V’s is on…

I would expect V to do a mini-TOOL extravaganza like last time though… they may have even obtained an interview again when they were last here…

I hate V these days though.. i think its all the Idol.

I have to say that it may get a showing on Headbangers Ball, but I somewhat doubt it. Over the past few months they seem to be playing the same bands over and over again with nothing new. [V] doesn’t have a heavy metal show anymore. In fact the channel has gone down hill as they don’t have weekly live shows with an audience anymore. The channel has picked up a stack of shite shows as fillers, and now concentrates more on “your top ten” type things – which means lots of rap/pop with a bit of Green Day/Slipknot/EMO thrown… Read more »

It all depends on how ‘commercial’ the Tool song sounds. If kids love it, they’ll play it.

But yeah Channel V sucks, I see it every now and then and it’s just dumb shit Jackass ripoff shows and you don’t actually see any music.
