I’m going to start a new page here for so 10,000 Days Mini-Reviews. You should see it on the right menu. Anyone who has anything to say about the CD (good or bad), send me an email and I’ll add the review.
I reserve the right to edit any of the reviews though, and if you send me anything that I consider unreadable (ie. bad spelling grammer, etc) I won’t post it. firstname.lastname@example.org
I don’t know if this is good news or bad news. It’s definately creating the urge to stare at the sun. You want to hear it, but you know its not time for us to hear it yet… but it’s been five years… is less than a month early really that bad? I’m undecided if I’m going to pursue this or not… Leaning towards not.
I’m with Johnny on this one. Very tempting but running up to Best Buy on May 2nd just won’t be as fun if I’ve already heard the album (in a lower quality sound format at that). To each their own.
OMG, I don’t know what the fuck to do.I’m going down the pub to chew it over.Later.
Certaintly won’t be going anywhere near it. It wouldn’t be the same without the entire package in my hand. Hearing vicarious was enough once on the radio
im also waiting. its not too much longer now anyways. main reason is id just rather listen to the album on my stereo with booklet in had instead of crappy friggin mp3s and penis in hand.
I have gone near, and my ears have now heard god and the devil sing to eachother……………
heard, seen, and sent a mini-review… And, yes, as always, I buy multipule copies of the album, and go to as many shows as I can… they get a good $450-500 bux outta me every album.. this will be many many peoples favorite album, as well, as mine now..
GREAT FUCKING JOB TOOL..
the album is amazing.
that is all
Hey yeh first time poster long time lurker around the site, yeh i aint touching the leaked album im waiting till the whole package is out, i downloaded the leaked single already thats enough for me, ive been hearing that vicarious is the worst track on the album so then i liked it so the rest of the album must be amazing.
RESIST THE TEMPTATION YOU CUNTS!!!!!!!!
It’s fucking worth the couple weeks wait.
29th of April for all aussies!
I am unhappy with the amount of content on the album. 4 of the tracks are nothing. (Lupin Conjuring, Lost Keys, Intension, Viginti Tres) Leaving only 7 “real” songs. I would think that 5 years of wait could yield some more material. However, what is present is very good, but I would still say it doesn’t meet the mark of Lateralus or Aenima. But we’ll see how this opinion changes after time. I think MJK could of been a little more subtle on the song “Rosetta Stoned”, (“…goddamn, shit the bed, typical…”) that song is just downright strange and it… Read more »
i’ve been a tool fan from the begining. when their music was so different than all others. when even mtv played there video( probably not sure what to think) and gained more fans. tool is the one band you can RESPECT. they work hard to produce a type of music that is different and touches people. their meesgaes aren’t right in your face, they come from behind and whisper in the wind and let you find it, then put in your own terms. i’m not going “all holy” right now, but i know that everyone only wants this music because… Read more »
BTW, the internet album isn’t shitty MP3’s. They are high quality .m4a files at 320 kbps.
You would have to be one hell of an audiophile with 3,000 dollar headphones and a anechoic chamber to notice any difference of quality between an HDCD (such as Lateralus) and a .m4a 320 kbps sound file.
i’m curious to know how it leaked…
did they send out the album to radio stations already? or could they have leaked it themselves, to promote sales?
The way these are typically leaked is, a promo copy goes to radio stations in advance. All it really takes is ONE person at ONE station to rip a copy and put it up on a site. It then spreads like crazy.
hard to digest…but that’s how i like it…they never dissapoint…end of message
well….shit…i downloaded it and i’m a pirate…and fuck it,and i have no problems with that….
well, this is nothing but a piece of shit!!!! oh yeah….there is nothing on this album!!!!…it must be some sort of a joke or just pure insanity…:-))
this is BIG NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
it’s so nothing that becomes fuckin’ hillarious!!!!….nice try guys!!!
I’m worried, some of the lyrics are getting awfully close to Christian rock!!!
Maybe the official vers. will be more enlightening with printed lyrics and whatnot.
BTW, I thought the vocals were too buried to be audible a lot of the time. Can this be a final mix?
well you should be very, very worried dude….right now, there is just one thing that is worst than christianity……..NEW TOOL “RECORD”…….this poor “record” is filled with old riffs and funny playing……
hahahahahhahahaha monkey trick……:-))))
opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one.
bachterias arsehole is an infested crevice of stupidty and spews out moronic calls mixed in with green, poorly formed shit.
Tool can shake all the superficial fans added by MTV, this album is amazing!!!
heheheeheheheehhehehehehehehehh LOL….vuduchild is angry!!!!!!!….angry brainless child??! hehehehe….shiteater!
spitter or swallower?? ha vulvachild??
I am merely stating the facts, dont read too much into it.
I first went to Amazon and ordered it (with a DVD that they drop in as a discount, hell, i am a consumer!). Buy stuff from bands you love! It is only because you bought their CDs that we got “10k Days” now.
Then got a torrent.
Three words from a Tool fan that started Tool love with Opiate looooong time ago.
Fucking Hell Awesome
I went there too, couldn’t help it.I’m buying 3 copies the day it gets released, 1 for me, 1 for my brother and 1 for the jukebox at the bar I work at.Jambi:Whoah.The record’s a fucking masterpiece.
“the record’s a masterpiece” booo whooo. im sick of the word masterpiece. its the most overused word in the dictionary these days. i bet you poseurs also call deftones – white pony a masterpiece too. and tool’s opiate a masterpiece. nice. real nice genuises. based on what grounds are you concluding the album to be a masterpiece? long songs? cheesy repetitive uncoloured riffs? the “esoteric” (note the quotation marks) feel of it? the fancy cheesy Alex Grey artwork? the inherent eye fetish the band has? what exactly constitutes to a “masterpiece”. personally the album is a trombone. it blows basically.… Read more »
Jonas lindgren …Eat Shit
nice tool fan. real nice. you’re stating the obvious. i already eat shit.
any more bright ideas you got in your little head that i should undertake?
tool fan. the name just knocks me out. JARHAHAH!!!
Just out of curiousity, what would you call a masterpiece?
btw, I don’t think 10,000 Days is a masterpiece either.
i think youre a masterpiece hellboy.
jarhahaha. or maybe on a more serious note Opeth’s Blackwater Park. (i’m dying to hear how much they suck… please tell me i love the haters who’ve never actually listened to Opeth… haters with 2 word vocabularies)
so before any tool posts it i’ll post it myself…
Opeth.. they suck!, they blow!, they Stink! or maybe if their brains are evolving… they suck, blow and stink!
Yeah, dude, Jonas is right, it blows. And because it blows, I think it’s fake
yeah man! its gotta be fake! why? cause tool can do no wrong!
*somebody please kill me.
if only humans had that much faith in dog… i mean God. if only…
hey jones i like the new record fucker in if u call this shit what about opeth’s damnation. That was the gayest attempt at 70’s prog rock i have ever heard. And also fucker i own black water park and this album is a fuck load better then that. Ps go wash your greasy metalhead hair. Fucker
also jonas, are u related to peter lindgren or just some obsessed faggot. If u r related call him a douche cause he sux dick at playin guitar.
Well, Tool hasn’t done any wrong in the past. I guess we’ll find out May 2nd if it really sucks this bad.
Sorry, couldn’t help it 😉
don… my dear boy
why do you state the obvious? why does someone always have to proclaim my prophecies? youre just another effect in the chain of causes and effects.
can you try and insult someone WITHOUT using the f word? or using adjectives that attempt to colour my personality, my sexual leanings and my intellectual workings?
not “proclaim.” but “fulfill”
Sorry, i could have helped it 😉
Perhaps if you gave us you life story we may be able to better direct our insults?
Or maybe we should just start complimenting you:
“wow your penis is so huge”
hell boy, did u like the album
but jonas u didn’t answer my question
jonas u didn’t answer my question
only if you agree, that yes you will forever more abandon the f word and other nasty 12 year old tactics.
This HAS to be fake! It is just silly. The quality drops so much after the first track (which happens to be the single) that I just cannot believe it is real. I have to admit, though, it would be a pretty elaborate hoax…
The album just needs time to grow. I think it is a nice change, who honestly wanted a replica of a previous album? Those albums stand as they are and to try and achieve a sound similar to one of them is just bastardizing their meaning. And so what if the subject matter is more personal(?), it adds a powerful mood to the music – especially with Keenan’s vocals processed the way they are. The music in and of itself is more repetative, but it’s almost trance-inducing at times (Rosetta Stoned, 10,000 Days). The drum fills are also extremely prefected… Read more »
the emotional depth of this album exceeds that of any tool album or any other album i have heard
While I like the initial sound of the album, I think it’s their worst effort yet. Even Opiate made me rock harder, and I just can’t help but think that 3 good tracks are enough to make up for a 5 year wait.
I know TOOL is capable of much, much greater things but I think they got lazy on this one and went the “it’s experimental and different so we’re done recording now” route.
I’m sure it’ll grow on me…but I don’t forsee it overtaking any of the previous albums in my rotation.
Deftones “Around the Fur” and Tool “AEnema” are masterpieces.
“10k Days” has yet to prove itself once we all listen to it for few months.
I remember my first listening of Aenema, i didnt quite liked it. Month later i was playing it on repeat be it in home, in car or on Discman.
